Yes well with only about 3 games remaining there is no room for errors like we saw today.  Frank should have known how SU play and played for a point in the hope of snatching a win.  Playing this open was suicidal

God if it was up to the people on this forum every player had his contract extended and then been sold 7 times over this season. We really need to calm down a little. We lost a game, and we lost it from the first to the last minute, a completely used day, but it can happen. Particularly if you play every 3 days with an inexperienced team. People wishing Sarri back obviously forgot about the absolute snail race among all CL contenders at the end of last season.

Before lockdown we scored an average of 1.65 points per PL game, then restarted with Leicester 5 points ahead of us and 3 points ahead of ManUtd, who had a far easier schedule. Since then we have upped our game to 2 points per game, and still have CL qualification in our own hands. If we're gonna make it, no idea.

All I know is if Lampard worked with the attitude of most people on here we wouldn't even have to show up on Wednesday.

I think so many people on this forum are very young supporters. Maybe that is why so many comments here are errors. 

For today, it's mostly not about the defense. That central defense maybe needs to step up, but I think SU are a VERY good team. Emphasis on VERY. Buy very good players, then u get very good performances, use average players, u get average performances.

When u play against a good team, we should not be surprised at what happened today. But then, it's very simple. Isn't it? 

WE TOO NEED TO BUY GOOD PLAYERS TO GET GOOD PERFORMANCES.

Then, for me, selling Nemanja Matic was a mistake, because I feel our midfield would have been very good with Matic and Kante behind a very good attacking midfielder. So, maybe we need to buy a new defensive midfielder to play with Kante, then buy Kai Havertz. I feel that will solve the midfield.

Then for the defense, James at right back will be okay. We need a new centre back,  I don't know who will pair with that new CB, maybe it is Rudiger, or Christensen, or Zouma, or Tomori. Then we need to buy a new left back.

For goalkeeper, we need a new  goalkeeper.

Supporters needs to get off Frank's back. He has not had the ability to buy any players he wants yet to solve our defense. It is clear we have a bottom half defense and quite possibly the worst starting goalkeeper in the Prem. None of Zouma, Rudiger, or Christiansen ever learn from their mistakes so that is a serious issue but I can't speak for what Lampard does in training to remedy this. It is clear we need reinforcements, I would start with a new keeper because if we get someone in there with confidence and who is an actual shot stopper that would do our back line a world of good and we can only make 1 or 2 replacements instead of making 5 or 6 panic buys and spend over the odds for players. 

And yeah Tammy had a poor game but don't tell me having Giroud in from the start would have changed anything. He scored in every 6th match for Chelsea in the PL. That's close to Joellinton, Benteke and McGoldrick numbers.

the way i look at it ,yes for sure we was dogsh*t all over the pitch today ,just like other games this season ,but its never got as bad as the rotherham utd 6 chelsea 0 days has it . Infact at times i wish football went back to that time and standard

That’s right that’s why I said it’s a coaching issue, sari plays retention football less direct more recovery runs from midfield I would t call it expansive but that’s the point his tactics allow  for a balance between defensive and offensive play franks doesn’t it’s all attack and accept that we will concede just try and score more

Disappointing (although somewhat predictable) that so many on hear turned on the likes of Tammy and some of the other youth today and in recent games. I am not sure which of them (if any) will ultimately make the grade at Chelsea. However they are all pretty inexperienced in the top flight and will inevitably show inconsistency. They need our support and encouragement more on bad days like today, than they do when everything is going right.

I begged my mum and dad to let me have the week off school after that one. On The Big Match as well. Was at the return game later that season, which we got gubbed 4-1. Seriously unhappy with what I’ve just watched today but perspective is a nice leveller.

Completely agree. We complain when we don't have any Chelsea youngsters coming through into the first team and we complain when we have youth team graduates playing. We should show much more faith in the young guys like we didn't do with De Bruyne, Salah, Lukaku, Ake, T. Hazard, Pasalic, etc.

Looking at the positives I thought Reece had his best game back and despite misssing a header I also thought Tammy’s holdup play and movement a bit better. Barkley also looked neat and tidy.  I did suggest playing a back 3 before the game and I think we look better like that but honestly Rudigier footwork just isn’t good enough. Well I had high hopes for this game and the run in is hard but on we go. 
 

also Willian can’t play every 3 days and be at his best.

You're right Just and I will always be happy for the youngsters to be given time. They will have ups and downs and hopefully come through stronger but I do wish Tammy would learn to stay on his feet - he's not gonna score many sitting on his arse!

Rest of the team lacked team effort with individual displays of unfitness.

i couldnt believe he let the striker get past him and not take a yellow for the team.. the only saving grace for Jorginho is that this was his first game back and maybe his match sharpness was lacking.. but i actually remember a time in the second half where we are 2-0 down and he is trying to bring the ball forward and takes 8 touches..  mount, willian, azpi did nothing all game.. Kepa again should have parried the ball further away for the first goal.. Tammy keeps falling over even when there is no one around.. Pulisic looked low on energy... I actually thought Barkley was the only one who looked ready..

Been from south yorks it was on the local News all week and moore after that hammering ,it was not just a rotherham v chelsea  beating it was a hick Northern town v  big time from London beating . Then as you say the 1-4  2nd killing at SB was onther kick into my nads
