We'll see that in due time, whatever happens he made our squad better even if he doesn't win anything. 

Poor performance.  Only players that really stood out to me is James and Kante.

- Mendy is getting a little eager charging out
- Kova and Mount unable to find space to operate and both struggled
- Forward players all well below par.  Few chances, but yet again we were not clinical infront of goal.  
- Werner is wasted out wide imo; wasn't working with Grioud so why not try Werner thru the middle and sub Giroud for Tammy
- Tammy - very hard for him to impact the game, but even his few touches often took the ball back towards our goal
- Kai, well, that was a rather disappointing performance.  Looking more Morata than Mata right now

Can we spend some time working on passes this week.  A little more urgency and zip on the ball into the open space.  Not these prods behind the running player.

Reece James was by far our best player tonight. Honorable mentions to Kante and Kovacic. As for the rest...not so good.

Screw it, Jorginhos fault why was he on type  bench and not on the field helping what kind of player is he. ?

To be fair, so he should have done considering the amount of money he had made available to him. My concern is, despite that, we're looking as clueless and weak as we did last year. Could a more experieced manager get more out of this squad?

Brutal loss. Risk getting left behind by Tottenham and Liverpool now. Wolves away on tuesday is another tricky fixture coming up and a win is needed.

Havertz a massive, massive disappointment again. Of course he needs time but he's got to be able to look like a footballer at least. Certainly didn't today. Werner likewise have gone cold which is a worry.

Woeful performance created f**k all and they walked through our midfield time and time again like what happened so often last season.

Havertz needs to give his head a wobble out of position or not there’s no excuse to not be able to play a simple 5 yard pass. He wasn’t the only one though shocking all round only Reece James comes away with any credit.

Nobody enjoys when we get beat, yet you don't see the majority calling for Frank's resignation.

It's only his 3rd year managing and has taken us to a good place, which can go much further with a bit of patience. I'm tired of the constant changing of managers, we need stability and I have full confidence Lampard is the right man to take us forward.

Terrible performance, especially the attack, and excellent defensive and all round team performance by Everton. happens. Don’t draw too many conclusions.

Money is not everything. He got good players for the money, another manager would have bought weak players for example. But Lampard made good signings. Like I said we'll see by the end of the season just how much did Lampard get from this squad. Klopp said we are the team to win the league just not so long ago, it's a long season.

Yea fair enough, can’t even tell you how desperate I am for us to challenge again though. So if I knee jerk myself on here I apologise, I’m just gutted after that.

After one unlucky loss in 15 games...really? 

Lots of people here blame bad luck for our absolutely sh*t performance tonight.  Nothing to do with lazy and inaccurate passing, casual play, sh*t game plan void of any ideas, late subs, etc. ,etc.

I know you can not win them all, but the manner we play football under Lamps is not very inspiring.

Every good manager has a style, puts a certain hallmark on the team's game. I just wonder what is Frank's style? Hoof it up and hope for the best? I just have no idea what to expect from any game we play.

I meant to say we looked weak and clueless today, sorry missed off a word!

I don't want to spend more time thinking about this game than I have to because at the end of the day, its an end to an excellent winning streak and to be honest, an end would've come at some point, especially considering how congested our fixtures are.
These are my main points though:

-I'm buying into the Reece James hype, best man on the pitch (including Everton players) if only his chances weren't wasted.
-A poor performance from Havertz but I'm not on the hate bandwagon, a 21 year old in a new league, being played out of position, having recovered from corona? Yeah, I'm not too worried just yet.
-Werner was poor too, although I can't blame him a lot of the time, there was no space for him and I really think being played on the wing is detrimental to his confidence, still though what can you do in an injury crisis?
-Mendy error was pretty shocking but that's what it was: an error. Not too concerned. 
-The rest were mediocre.

Honestly, this was just one of those games and although its ruined my weekend, I'm not overreacting.

Everton were fantastic. They did the job containing us and trying to hit us on the counter, an excellent night for them.

It obviously hasn’t helped that we didn’t have any wingers available but it is what it is.

I don’t think we had a terrible performance, we just couldn’t break down a defence on a very good day.

We accept the loss and move on.

This was my worry when we bought them.  Very talented players but look at alot of the highlight goals and assists in there career.... Usually on the break with open space in front of them.

How many times has Frank been " schooled" this season to make you so tired of seeing us " schooled " ?

 

I have seen 2 members posting less than balanced views on Lampard, is it half term already?

I don't know if wingers would of helped, every ball into the box was being dealt with well by their four CB's

Frank being realistic, he saw we weren't at it early doors. Disappointed with our lack of creation. 

Dismal result and performance. The attack was probably the worst it's been all season, and Havertz was awful. Typical Goodison display and once again Everton put in far more effort than they do against anyone else.

Their defence was rock solid, but we didn't show any invention to try and get through them. I was not impressed with the tactic of lumping up to Giroud and Tammy, who won next to nothing in the air all game. We badly missed the creativity of Ziyech and Pulisic.
