Later than usual of course but obviously hugely important that Tuchel gets one session in at least before tomorrows game.

Surely there would have been an introduction meeting before a training session. Night training. Good start if true Good point, I read some were on here that he quarantined 24 hours in Germany had a negative test, had a negative test this side then was to quarantine 24 hours this side, yet he is taking a training session ? I want him to win and win big tomorrow and I want him to be successful and his contract extended for 10 years, I have loved this club all my life. However we are in the middle of a pandemic this is more embarrassing and stinks of money than the sacking of Frank. We are getting a kick in for this, unless as you say, more happened that we don't know about.

January 26, 20215 yr Of course everybody is free to think whatever they want to but I think people who are very excited about Tuchel really don’t understand the legacy of Frank and how much he meant to older fans. I’ll probably get excited about Tuchel in a few weeks time but now is too soon for me to look forward to anything. Too soon.
January 26, 20215 yr Really come around to this appointment, wasnt keen because of his reported off field issues, which still may prove to be his downfall in the long run. However the more i research about him the more i believe he is a very good fit for the squad we have, and I think he will have more joy trying to implement his dortnund and mainz pressing tactics with our front players, than what he managed to get out of Neymar and Mbappe at PSG. We have the flexibility he likes to switch between 3 and 4 at the back, and we have a mobile target man in Abraham, that he likes to use but didnt really have at PSG. Big question is the midfield make up, I think mount will win a place in the side, Kante is also a shoe in, but if it is going to be a midfield 3, I dont think Jorginho has the mobility, and i dont think Kovacic offers enough in either box, so hopefully he sees gilmour as a real option to play the deeper role.

January 26, 20215 yr I do respect that instead of watching from the stands tomorrow he held off practice so he could be at training to prepare the team for Wolves and be on the touchline coaching. It takes some balls to step in with short notice and get a team ready for a game when the easy way would be watching from the stands with no responsibility for the outcome. I hate to see Frank go, but a great call for a beginning.

After spending a fortune and having a great squad, we weren‘t able to beat EVEN ONE team of the top half. How can anyone defend that? Talk about hypocrisy. Had it been any other manager, we would have been calling for his head for a long time already. I just know the how so many people were happy to see the end of Sarri ball despite finishing 3rd and winning the Europa.

Who you calling deluded and a hypocrite you bellend, I've backed every manager we had almost to the point they left, every time. You claimed we are in relegation form, show me a form table that shows that. Edited January 26, 20215 yr by dkw
January 26, 20215 yr Apart from not wanting to get burnt again by a huge contract, We have shown our 'Short termism',ambitions by only giving an initial 18 month contract, hardly time to Turn this lot into the next big thing? Edited January 26, 20215 yr by Ballack & Blu

Yeah i don't get the 18 month thing, unless there's an extension option. It's pretty much a 12 month contract in truth as unless he's a miracle worked this season is a write off he can use to just assess the squad. So then he gets players in the summer, makes his changes and leaves after 12 months for someone else to pick up the pieces. Makes no sense at all. Edited January 26, 20215 yr by dkw

Keeping a coach who is obviously a failure only because of his past? Seriously? Come on. We are not Arsenal. He was far from a failure. We were only 5 points off top 4, still in FA cup and Europe. The sacking was very harsh but here we are. I would have preferred to keep Lampard in the job but yeah, best of luck to Tuchel. Hopefully he will get Havertz playing well.

What exactly made you believe it would get better? I can‘t think of a single point. There weren't. It's just because it's Lampard. The love runs deep and heart rules the head for many people. Just not Roman. For me the loss to Arsenal and getting out thought again by Arteta made me realise. Lets hope things improve now.

I just can't think of any reason to go for a short contract, other than saving the sacking money obviously, but no footballing reason makes sense.
