Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*

He was far from a failure. We were only 5 points off top 4, still in FA cup and Europe.  The sacking was very harsh but here we are.

I would have preferred to keep Lampard in the job but yeah, best of luck to Tuchel. Hopefully he will get Havertz playing well.

Even though the bolded statement is true, but ONLY looking at that for assessment leading up to the sacking is quite misleading.

In the last 8 games, there are 2 wins, 1 draw, and 5 losses. Results aside, the bigger issue with the recent series of games were that the team simply look lost, uninspired, and without purpose. The lost to Arsenal was quite disappointing, but but I think the losses to Man City and Leciester showed the board that Chelsea (in its current state) is just not in the same caliber with these teams.

Do I feel the decision to sack Frank was harsh? YES, especially since the team had quite a good run since the start of season until the game against Everton. That's where things started to fall apart.

I also believe, and this is just my own belief, that Frank was a short term hire and the board wanted a bigger name so when Tuchel was available, the board makes the moves and the recent set of results just make it easier to pull the trigger.

Anyway, I think it's unfair to try to throw the new manager under the bus before giving him a chance to see what he can do.

Now if Marina get's her haircut shorter, keeps the ear rings she might make a passing Gladys Pugh, though that might put a few players off their game, so perhaps leave well alone. 😄

Big job to get us top 4

I was joking prior in this thread. No chance he or anyone would get us top 4 this season. City, United and Liverpool are locks on top 3, spurs or Leicester get 4th for me.

He has no chance of being successful this season imo.

He can win the Champions league.

Wanted Frank to get a bit more time but sadly this is a results business and we weren't performing. Was unsure about TT at first but did some research on him and honestly I think this is a really good match.

For those that doubt Thomas Tuchel, he has the highest win percentage in both Dortmund and PSG history. Unbeaten at home in the Bundesliga with Dortmund, something I hope he can bring to the bridge making it a fortress again. Also he's very tactically astute the psg game vs liverpool was a masterclass and both Klopp and Pep rate him highly.

Frank leaves with a good record one full season, a cup final and a top 4 finish but he is not a world class coach. He will be back once he has more experience.

I love Frank but I will be giving Thomas my 100% support from day one. I don't expect the fans to warm to him straight the way but lets not make what seems like a very very difficult task (getting top 4) any harder by not giving him our support. Also random note I don't know why but I feel like we'll win the FA cup this season

He hasn't even won a match yet... is he really worth it? Been a manager here for 3 hours and has nothing to show for it.

We've already dropped league positions and he's only been in charge 1 day.....terrible effort.

I actually think we are doing very well to get a manager of his standing, just played a CL final, managed some of the biggest names in football, git experience with some of our players, German like our 2 marquee signings, I mean he really ticks the boxes.

Imagine Gus again, I’m fairly excited to see what he can do, bringing the best out of timo and havertz will be key.

Top 4 is 5 points away game in hand for west ham not withstanding it’s not some distant far fetched goal, put together a run and we will be back in the mix.

We better, and win the CL. I expect no less from our amazing players now the crux of all their problems has gone and they have an experienced, tactically astute manager.

Exactly. He’s what we need

Welcome.  The bar is high and excited to see what Tuchel brings.  It will take a little time, but lets get some discipline and drive into these players. Chelsea is too comfortable at times (excluding anyone in the Manager seat).

Take out the German and you've just explained Avram Grant at one time.... boy, did he tick some boxes!
