Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*

Featured Replies

This is a bloody useless thread so far, full of sarcasm and pseudo cynicism.

what does Tuchel need to do to give us our best shot at top 4. .

1. Need to find a system. I think it will either be 4:3: 3 or 4 2 3 1. The latter is probably better suited to havertz

2, needs to find his best 11 and stick with it, something we haven’t done in the past two seasons. Last season we changed the defence every game and this season the midfield and the attack.

3. Needs to make us better at quick break. We have lightning fast forwards, or at least Werner,  ho and Pulisic are quick. So we have to play to that strength.

4. We need a better ready for defence shape when we are attacking. This means the full back can’t consistently be caught up field or if they are there has to be cover.

more specifically we are going to build the front of the team around Werner. He is the future for better or worse. So does that mean he is the main striker or can he play in a 2 with Tammy. I am guessing he will get the lone striker role with Tammy as plan b.

the midfield needs to be sorted.  If havertz is going to start and trhat is less certain this season, if he starts then the midfielders with  him have to  sit more

we need to improve our tempo in attack

His nickname should be Herr Line and no one can convince me otherwise

So close to Allo Allo....wasnt that something like Herr Flick?

Okay so been watching some videos on him, his reaction to the demba ba incident completely put me off him, so i would love to hear this explanation of that indicent.

So his tactical approach :

"Tuchel will make Chelsea’s players fit his pattern, with obsessive drills, and a very clear idea of where he wants them to be on the pitch. The Tuchel style is based on running, hard pressing, and speed of thought and deed."

- @guardian_sport

Tammy, Ziyech, Mount, Chilly, Werner, Kante, Kovacic, Reece especially would thrive in this scenario I feel. Not so sure about Havertz although he is probably the center of it all. If Tuchel didn't have a plan for him he wouldn't have been given the job in the first place.

Tough job for him anyway.

One season max for Tuchel I'd say.

The press will ask him about that today or tomorrow. I don't know all the details but watching the Ba interview it seems Tuchel just completely ignored the thing.

“He was one of the most impressive managers I’ve met. Very insightful, a man of detail.

“Speaking to the players who he managed (at PSG) – Dani Alves, Gianluigi Buffon – they couldn’t speak any more glowingly about him."

- Rio Ferdinand on Thomas Tuchel.

it really doesnt matter  if his tactics is great or not because we all know how great he is as a tactician

the bigger issue is how he can work with the board without any clashes, i hate to see fights within the club every 1-2 years

At least it's better than some sh*t interim-solution that would turn the entire season into a write off. Guess i'll give the club that.

He will be gone after 18 months he will clash with our board that's a stonecold guarantee you can bet your mortgage on that.

Who we really should be looking two managers ahead when we get a manager really.

So who is the next two on the list?

I will be listening keenly as Ba still seem livid watching a recent interview

Just spoke to a colleague in France who is a big PSG fan and he didn't have a positive word to say about him, he felt PSG had no identity in style of play under Tuchel. He felt Tuchel gave in to the pressure of Managing Mbappe and Neymar and pretty much let them do what they want regardless of impact to the shape of the team. He felt that without Mbappe and Neymar the team may potentially perform better or at the very least have a better structure but things were worse with the 2 out, hugely disappointed with the coaching of the team especially considering he came in with a big reputation as a tactical coach.

He felt in the bigger games the team performed better because the bigger players in the team knuckled down but otherwise it was just a sh*tshow.

All very interesting.

Just 18 month contract for me is weird like neither side wanting to commit any longer.

Looks to me like he is used to working with top players whereas a number of ours are not in that category though show do potential.

This is actually a good move from the club, it's a cheap option with a potential big reward. Either Tuchel becomes a great manager, in which case we give him a new contract, or if he's rubbish and can't seem to get going at all it won't take much to release him.

Let's see what he can do.

It could be that Tuchel recognises that this is a good move for him and he shouldn't really bargain with his position if he wants to manage top clubs. Particularly after his recent downfall with PSG.

It depends how he fails because even if we do fail then it doesn't mean sacking Lampard wasn't the right decision.

We have a really difficult task ahead of us with the position we are in but if he can get this team playing consistently better with an identity then it should bode well for next season. We have a very good squad in my opinion, so even if we miss out on top 4, not attracting top players next summer won't be a catastrophe. We need a few under the radar additions, unsung heros if you like, akin to Dave. This squad isn't far off being a complete one. It's the best we've had in years.

If nothing changes and we fail to reach top 4, it will be a clear mistake by the board for making this move. Tuchel must deliver, he is known to be a good coach like Sarri and he is also known for working well with younger players. Our team doesn't have that many big names as PSG that has a few big stars so as long as he is able to do his job we should be able to see a change and we need to see a change fast.

I think we should just not go there else we'll sound like the Spurs fans kidding themselves Mourinho has changed, he is who he is.

He will probably be an 1 or 2 full season job but unlike others i don't see that as a negative, if he develops our players half as well as he developed player's at his previous clubs (Auba and Mbappe especially) we will be left in a very healthy position, if he can win a big one then even better.

The only negative i feel so far is he by all accounts is a massive Rudi fan, can't be dealing with two more years of that prat unless Tuchel can coax his 17/18 form back.

Wouldn’t read too much into not been able to manage either Mbappe or Neymar. Individually they are bigger than the club, just imagine Messi at Barca. I wouldn’t want that job either, and that is why they have had a revolving door of top managers.
