On talk sport radio last nite they put out a question to chelsea fans

Are you happy that Frank got sacked for TT to take over and lead chelsea to where they are today ?

Think it was about 4 cfc fans that phoned in to basically say they wish Frank was still the manager for various reasons .

They seem to claim in the longterm Frank would have got Chelsea back to the top end ?

after every defeat Frank would say ‘ we will/must learn from our mistakes ‘  this ended up sending me up the wall as confidence in Frank

was slowly dripping out of me ,since chelsea never seemed to be learning from the mistakes .

i still have a soft spot for Frank as the player but not the manager at the moment

I still think this sort of, I still believe having Frank here was the only chance we had of a long term project at the club, with a proper channel between the youth set up and the first team. Tuchel has done amazingly well by tightening up how we play into a solid defensive unit to the detriment of our attack, making us hard to beat but not exactly a flowing attacking machine, which is completely understandable. But Tuchel will be almost certainly be gone in a season or so, and we will be back to square one with a bloated squad of players the next manager doesn't really want, and round and round the wheel goes.....

about the red card that some here are saying was not. the ref stopped the corner, went straight to Rudi and Savic for obvious tensions, and must have clearly told them that he would not tolerate the sh*t anymore. what does Savic next? Elbows. f**k me, eat your own sh*t you c**t.

Re the red card, if it had happened against us I would have been a bit pissed by the overacting but would have been more angry with our player for doing something so stupid. May look minimal but striking out like that is a sending off offence.

As you say it was pointed out by the ref just seconds earlier so he deserved all he got.

Iam sick to me back teeth when i ever see prem players falling down for the slightest reason(s) . You dont see this as much in League one or two

gsmes for sure .

So it dont sit right with me Even when a chelsea player goes down this Road of trying to fool the officals .

I thought it was very soft. Softest red since JT got sent off at Barca.

of course it's "soft", remeber when Hazard got kicked all and about against manure and Oliver says next one is off. rat c**t Herera trips him for a yeelow but yet sees red in a moment.

Iam quite happy with Frank getting his hands dirty at another club and learn more about been a manager for the duration of TTs contract at Chelsea

which is 18 months . In a perfect World Frank would be more set up to manage Chelsea again after TT has gone if Frank has been pulling up trees

as a club manager elsewhere .

JM came back and won a title

...it's just the Chelsea way.   But we certainly need to off load about 15-20 players in the summer, all the loanees out there will come back and TT will have about 40-50 players clogging up the pitch in training....even Victor Moses, if you can remember back that far

That was some performance, game plan worked, all the players did their part, and beat them in every parts of the field. I don't buy the theory of Atletico never showed up, they tried everything they had and we just happen to be a step ahead of them. They pressed high up for 10-15 minutes, and we never hand them possession, after that burst they just got tired and we passed around without pressure. They tried to play out from the back and we made it impossible to go forward without 3-4 side way attempts. They tried to get behind us and never really succeeded. Mendy had couple of saves but nothing serious. Werner is not scoring but doing everything else right, if only he could slow down a bit to let others catch up, might have another 1-2 goals.  Ziyech had one of his better games. Havetz is improving, hopefully next time he will back himself and take on the defender 1 on 1. Kante is everywhere, and passing was slick. The penalty call is a maybe, but I'd say it would cause more outage if it was given. Azpi did something dangerous, but never went all the way in, and the attacker went down as soon as the hand touches the shirt. Sure, VAR could give it, but just be prepared to give another 3-4 per game for every contact in the box.

Great night. The feeling of advancing past the last 16 has been seven years in the making, so it's long overdue for the club.

Thoroughly deserved the win, and could have won by more if our end product was up to scratch.

Best game Kante has played in years. He bossed everything.

The summer signings in Werner, Ziyech and Havertz were all good, and all contributed through an assist or on the goal sheet (in Ziyech's case).

The passion of Silva, Jorginho and Mount in the stands was fantastic. The passion of these players was infectious.

Looking forward to the quarter finals. Don't mind who we play, just very happy to be there after seven years.

Don't know if anyone has posted this Emerson is definitely off some bloke's Christmas card list.

There is a gange who put antepost  bets on for cheltenham this week back in january . Think he has 5 predictions that have all come in with

various odds ,and he called a 28/1 winner amongst that . Today in his last prediction he stands to win £500,000 if his bet comes in which is the

favorite to win said race . He has been offered a £275,000 cash out and its from a £5 stake .

i would Ask for £300,000 to cash out  then slap £50,000 on my horse that i had to win

Every manager says that and Mou drops players under the bus.. Frank took us to top 4, gave us Mount and Reece.. those are reasons enough for me!

Well.I must say i was surprised to have done so well....if we really have clicked into a proper team, then i think we need liverpool or man city in the draw as i believe the team can beat either of them now....this is too much for my aging heart...could we get to a euro final again.....could we win the fa cup...could we come second in prem....i believe the answer is yes...

Yeah but that was a second yellow wasn't it? Savic got a straight red for an elbow that wouldn't have felled my 95 year old nan.

How much force was behind the elbow is irrelevant, it's all about the intent, same as a head butt, or a hand to the face, they are all straight reds.

my bad I thought he was without one before

what a game.  Cant recall the last time we played a CL tie against a team leading the league in a league such as La Liga, did so well, and felt so confident.

Could really set the pace for how we end the season I hope. Well done!!

That's the rub.  Intentional violent act doesnt matter the severity of force. It's the intention.

I do think had the penalty claim (which was outside the box if Im not mistaken anyway) happened after that incident it would have been given just to stay consistent as both were pretty soft calls although intent doesn't come into it with penalties as it does violent conduct (to my understanding).

Atleti fans should be livid with Savic. It might have been soft, but his sending off was still merited by his petulance actions and especially right after the ref had a talking to them if I recall correctly (as in within 15 seconds or so).  A soft, and incredibly stupid elbow in such a game.

Little embarrassed for Rudi, but he wasnt the only one going down too easily over two legs,

I never blame the opposition, only our players, unless its something like a blatant dive with no contact. Drogba was an idiot for giving Vidic a light slap in Moscow and Atleti fans should be livid with Savic. Rudiger did the right thing lol.

True..

But that red card didnt change the course of match...

With or without that card Atleti had a proper spanking..

Fair point. I'm unsure whether anything would have happened if Rudiger hadn't crumpled like a House of Cards.

I was more angry at Sanchez for falling over at the slightest contact and then rolling around as if he'd be shot.

Anyway I know I'm asking for something that no longer exists but simulation and exaggeration infuriates me. It shouldn't be encouraged at our club.
