Why do people keep saying Porto need 3 goals? If they get 2 without reply we go to extra time, then pens if no more goals scored.

Dont you understand that they will be "away" second leg so their goals on that night will be worth exactly the same as what ours was worth tonight

In a season where the champions have just conceded 3 away goals, defensive solidity cannot be understated. Aside from the WBA game I still think we have the best defense in the competition atm, we might not be great at attacking but we can defend (not always convincingly). 

My three points from this: in attack Mount stood out again no surprise there whilst Pulisic is starting to get up to speed very unlucky not to score.

Kova is a baller I'm starting to wonder if there isn't a midfield he can't boss against (except maybe WBA and even then he still looked decent). Jorgeh recovered well, got an assist also.

Lastly the defense is better with Chilly B and Antonio in there. Alonso has positives but if Ben can carry on with performances like that Marcos will struggle to displace him in the starting lwb. Rudiger in that back 3 makes me feel so much safer he's by no means perfect but he's physical and direct.

Under normal circumstances I would say job done. But given we are away for our home game and they have their best two scorer to return I dont feel it is game over yet.

Another pretty dour performance under Tickle but it got the job done. I think we scrapped it out which is sometimes what you need to do away in Europe.

Mount's turn and goal changed the game. Up to 8 goals across all competitions now. Some work from a bloke only in the team because he is Frank's favourite...

Can't be complacent coming into the second leg. Porto won't be giving up.

Also hats off the PSG on that cracking result. Though I would prefer for them to get knocked out you have to give it to them tonight.

Yes. In effect it is only half time. I think Sergio Oliveira is the key player they were missing. He has scored 5 in the Champs League this season.

In an 'away' Champions' League quarter-final no less. He, and we, and Super Frank have a lot to be proud of.

Some great individual performances tonight, and a great result. I'm absolutely delighted.

I’m happy with that.

How you bounce back from a defeat defines you and the fight was there tonight.

2-0 in a Champions League Quarter Final 1st leg, nothing to be unhappy about.

Champions League Porto = Portuguese League Porto. A diving show. 

I wasn't expecting much from Porto but I wasn't sure we would get it going in attack. 2 great goals. Clinical. More of this in the second leg please.
