It's so ironic his idol is Drogba. They couldn't be any different as players or the way they conduct themselves.

To be fair, Drogba was a bit petulant during the start as well. Difference was he kept working hard for the team and matured. This guy is still a child.

Even then he knuckled down and accepted competition of Gudjohnsen, Crespo, Anelka etc. This guy thought being back up/competition to peak Diego Costa in his early 20s was beneath him.

Funnily enough when he was getting an unconditional starting spot under Jose at United he said about teammates weren't having it as easy 'you're a grown-ass man. Deal with it'

The sheer lack of self awareness is something else.

True. I get so angry with this transfer as most of us could see it from a mile away. Terrible decision. We were close to closing the gap only to be brought right back.

Apparently Rom is not willing to cut all the difference between what Inter are willing to pay in loan wages and what he is currently making.

Loan share has been mentioned earlier, that would result in Inter paying a 3rd of his wages, lukaku agreeing a 2 year wage cut of a third and us paying a third, around $109k.

We also looking at creative ways Inter can afford a loan fee. As we owe them payments of around 20mill per season the idea would be those payment go to them and immediately return to us as loan fees.

In brass taxes would mean we receive our 40mill back, or save 40mill, over 2 seasons. Save 11.3mill a season in wages and pay 5.6mill a season in wages.

Means saving 51.3mill ish over 2 years. If we cannot sell him I can see why that appeals to the new owners.

Problem is the other 2 years of his deal after. At 31 going on 32 might be stuck with him then.

There were people who stuck up for him with mountains of text quoting all sorts of stats/"achievements"/"data".

This guy is the worst Chelsea player of all time in my books. Cost us 90m, offers almost zero impact in the biggest games. Only good thing about him is he scores against the lowest levels of top football.

A year back we were CL winners and had a sizeable war chest. Had we bought Hakimi and persisted with the Havertz experiment, we might have fared better with profit to boot.

Now not only Inter took us for mugs, they're embarassing us even further with the loan deal and having us foot a 3rd of the wage yet still saddling us with the final 2 years of the lump's contract.

His legacy with us after what is an 8 year association with the club are the CWC, Supercup and 15 goals. After 2 debuts too, costing us more than a 100m in transfer money. What a joke.

Sign Hakimi and wait for Haaland. That´s what I wanted. It was the perfect plan.

Instead they showed less self-control than a teen boy watching the Spanish beach handball team.

I still cannot believe the stupid transfer fee they paid for him. You immediately knew it was an outrageous overpay. If Inter want him so bad now, they can just forfeit 30% of the original transfer fee and Lukaku can give up part of his wages and we are done. Obviously Inter only want him for "free", Lukaku forfeits half his wages, Inter makes up the difference.

Basically what Inter wants to do here, is double the wages of their own player and have Chelsea pays €100M for it. Nice business model.

I agree, that really is a bum deal.

Romelu Lukaku: Inter Milan in talks with Chelsea over loan deal for wantaway club-record signing

Inter Milan cannot afford to re-sign Romelu Lukaku permanently but are keen to bring him back to the San Siro on loan; any deal must make financial sense for Chelsea, who bought the striker for a club-record £97.5m fee last summer; Lukaku scored 15 goals in 44 games for the Blues

Can the club sue Lukaku over this? Surely it's a scam ran by him and Inter. The bloke plays just 4 months for us (of which half of them he was injured), came out with an interview pining for inter then reports of him contacting inter's people and players since Dec.

Now Inter wants a loan because they can't afford him? Chelsea FC still hasn't paid the full length of the contract, Inter can easily just null and voids the payments to make the difference.

Exactly, It stinks! I often do ask myself if its money laundering just super richie richs paying each other from the latest games of poker in their diamond dungeons served by child slaves!!

The amount of long time posters ive seen crucify themselves and opinions pining about lukaku has been a wild ride!

Quicker he's gone the better

I personally hope we don't loan him to Inter. It's basically a scam. They pay only a third of his wages for a couple of years, make use of him, Lukaku gets what he wants and then they dump him back on us with high wages when he's in his thirties. We should either look for a better buyer or cut our losses and throw him in the reserves as punishment from all these stories I'm reading about him plotting this since December.

Kinda makes me wish we had Conte , that's exactly what he would have done

I don't think it's a scam, I just think he deep down knows he's out of his depth in TT's system and has reverted to his default setting.

If he goes back to Inter he'll find himself behind Dzeko before long and will probably start claiming how he's never been as happy as he was at West Brom.

That said, he's probably been stupid enough to breach his contract so it's worth going over his actions with a fine toothcomb for sure.

Just tired and pissed at this piece of sh*t. While other clubs are busy planning and signing the best players available, our resources are focused on getting rid of this c**t who never actually wanted to play for us and we're also trying not to get scammed by the scamster Italian club. This is putting us back by a long way. By the time we tidy up this sh*t, the only players available in the market will be the Bakayokos and Drinkwaters.

He may not intend it as a scam but this surely falls very close into defrauding the club

He probably will be 2nd choice as long as Dzeko is fit.

Our lawyers should be finding every fine print available and fine his ass for as much money as possible.

Huge waste of time and money this arsehole. We should be putting all our resources into improving the squad, the club is stretched thin as it is

Lol.. knock it off. He isn’t going to play second fiddle to a 36yr old Dzeko. Yes; the majority of fans want him out but his stock is still high around Europe. Barca & Bayern are rumoured suitors but can’t afford the fees we will demand.

Some of the vitriol on this thread should be direct at Tuchel who could have vetoed the deal if he felt he wasn’t appropriate for his system.

Ibra and Giroud won the Serie A at 35 and 39. Dzeko is much more suited to Inter's system but Lukaku is good for bullying the lowest teams.

It was either bet on Lukaku or Tammy and Tuchel wasn't a fan of Tammy. Most of the vitriol isn't about Lukaku's suitability for our team, it's about him doing everything possible to get out of the team 4 months into his 2nd Chelsea career in the process blatantly disrespecting everyone involved with the club including the fans. This player has cost the club more than 100m+ already and now the club has to spend more just to get him off the team, but Tuchel should share the blame despite him doing everything possible to include Lukaku in the team even going as far as defending Lukaku publicly.

Barca and Bayern won't buy him. As if Lukaku fits those two more than us.

Nah, You cant have a £97M player tapping himself up a few months after coming back, Hes a terrible player mid table at best!

Lukaku will be just fine in bayern. In fact I can see him scoring 30 goals easily there but bayern won't pay his salary n his fee.

Barca has no money so that is not happening.
