Imo she deserves some blame not because she pick who to sign but in the end of the day she is the boss, when your subordinate make mistake, the boss should also take some of the blame. For example she could have replaced whoever in charge with the recruitment.

The ideal situation would be the recruitment department would say, Listen, the really good players don't want to sign for us or we're too late for them anyway, so we've identified a few bang average ones, and don't forget we're in a panic right now. The one closing the deal then would know to offer a tenner per week, and a bag of crisps during half time.

Transparency is key!

It is strange. Thought it was a running joke before but seems fans are serious. Oh well  there is always a scapegoat; Peter Kenyon,  Roman, Emenalo, now Marina

Easier than the cult blaming Tuchel I expect.

Was one of my fears going into this season that we would take all the window trying to get rid of him. Glad its accelarating early. I'd take someone like Jesus as a replacement or I would be very happy with Broja.

We have alot of potential outgoings this season and I'd prefer not to spend obscene money on another Lukaku and just take our time and find the right striker next season or maybe another season after that. New owners doesn't mean just buy everybody now, they need a 3 year plan with Tuchel leading it.

My main source saying an agreement in principle has been made 15m fee to be paid for Lukaku to go back to Inter on loan. They didn't specificy currency but I'll take a wild guess and assume euros since they already offered €5m and we rejected.

Important to note my source is saying we want players included in a swap but Inter remaining firm that they don't want players included. We will have to see what happens regarding this but, don't expect anyone to be included. I expect Marina however, to do what she does best and get us the best possible deal.

Marina is one of the most respected football directors in the game. She's going to walk into any job she wants next.

The disrespect some of our fans give her is stunning and born from ignorance.

This isnt true at all, Shes had one of the best owner cash cows and I suspect many want to see a changing of the guard, Regardless! Like others have said she's one of the bosses, Our recruitment is a joke and it will be looking grim if no movement for some quality in the coming weeks

Lukaku is a sackable offence!

Be absolute madness if no decent incomings

Keep cech get the rest gone by winter!

Winter is cominggg

Knowing the monumental f**k up surrounding this cockup of a transfer, my guess it will be in  Iranian Rials.

😅

Why is Marina exempt from criticism from some on here? Players and coaches get criticism, so I see no reason why this shouldn't extend to board members too. If she can be praised then she can certainly be criticised too, and she should be criticised for how she has handled contract negotiations and transfers coming into the club of late.

Why is Lukaku a sackable offence? 95% of football pundits globally said he would be a great signing. He was a top class player in serie a. He has PL experience and scored a lot of goals here. He seemed to most people like the perfect signing.

What did marina do that meant he failed? She executed the transfer.

Why is our recruitment a joke? We have a big squad that is capable of getting to both domestic cup finals and a whisker away from a CL semi final. Who have Tottenham arsenal and united signed that we missed out on?

We didn't have a cash cow owner. Roman held the strings tighter, which is why marinas negotiation was vital to manage net spend. Some of the negotiations for player exits and the loan army have been great.

There's been mistakes, like at every club, but I think we should be grateful Roman put the right people in place who have kept us a big club despite not keeping pace with the spending other clubs are doing. Marina is a part of that.

I just think it's impossible to know even 10% of the context. So I look at the bigger picture. Marina has steered us well. We compete on multiple fronts, consistently. We perform better than arsenal Tottenham and united. We are behind Liverpool and city. There's no underlying reason why we should be 2nd in the list of clubs behind city and not 6th.

So broadly, yes she's done a good job.  And those that criticise her focus on topics they don't or can't understand.

Cech's part of the board. You can't pick and choose because one happens to be a club legend as a player.

Ok, so we rejected 5m to end up paying them 15m to take him off our hands? Not great business from Marina, as HazardousChoice will make sure to point out…

Marina has done good business, but some deals are just so obviously bad you know it the moment they happened. Lukaku was a €50M player at best. You just won the freaking CL with a young front line, that could reasonably be expected to improve. You played with house money. If Haaland wasn´t gettable then you should have sat on it for 12 months and nobody would have been mad.

Also always remember Tuchel is a great coach, not a great sporting director. The longer Lukaku drags this out this summer, the higher the chances Tuchel will be forced to use Broja. I think that kid will be a very good player within the next 24 months.

Again, this doesn't matter if she was directed to use the funds available for a ST in Lukaku vs a DM in Tchouameni.

Either way paying an astronomical fee for Lukaku at the age of 28 and on huge wages is terrible business and i don't think her role is that simple just to negotiate fees and wages, i think she has much more power than that. I would say she is the final decision maker from scouts recommendations. Only decent deal was the hazard fee and he was the best player in the league.

Chelsea and Inter will have a new direct contact tomorrow for Romelu Lukaku. First bid for €5m plus €2m add ons turned down, but Inter are prepared to improve their proposal. 🚨🔵 #CFC

Chelsea are waiting for Inter’s new bid to decide on Lukaku’s future soon.

Seriously, €5m loan fee? That’s ridiculous.

Right, all smacks of a cunning plan by them and rom to make them more money while he goes back to them after a year.

I strongly doubt this.

Everyone was pointing out how we could create but not finish. Lots were saying lukaku was the player to sign to complete the puzzle and win us the league.

They were wrong. But If we didn't sign anyone, there would have been as big an outcry.

I think it depend on what you want. If you want to win now then signing rom make sense but if you want to rebuild the team then no.

I have said that I personally prefer the 2nd option. Let's just continue what lamp started and rebuild the team but I think Tuchel said in his one interview that he is not interested with winning in the future, he want to win now.

Tell them to do one. Would rather have Lukaku in his prime on the bench than 10m in the bank. Obligation to buy or nothing. He can sulk if he wants but he’ll only lose his World Cup spot if he does.

At this point I'd rather just sell him to anyone else for 5m or let him rot on the stands than let him go to Inter, what a bunch of classless c**ts. Rumours that Spuds are bidding around 80m for Lautaro, just wait for that deal to be finished and tell them "you got money now, so pay up or f**k off".

Isn’t this on the manager though? Everyone is pointing fingers everywhere except at the culprit.
