I don't think they will. The dips will most likely be 1 draw or 1 loss and then like 10 wins on the bounce. We have to match that to stand a chance.

You’re probably right, it’s more about whether we can keep up with them by not losing too many points. While I can see City and the dippers going to Newcastle and battering the barcodes, I can see us losing points next week up there. We are that inconsistent in our play and it’s a matter of trying to keep focused in every match. However, we are still top of the league, so we can’t be doing that badly.

OGS is crap and he has this arrogant side about him that makes him even more dislikeable and I also know there are still Chelsea fans that adore Mourinho, but the Mourinho of the last decade is even worse than OGS. Seeing Salah and KDB's evolution just makes my blood boil, if you are a manager and have these two guys on the training ground and fail to see their potential, nevermind improve them and turn them into the world beaters they have become, them for me it is crystal clear you are a fraud of the highest level. No wonder Mourinho has fallen so low as a manager and lost the respect of so many in this sport, something it won't happen with Guardiola, Tuchel, Klopp etcm who will still go from strengh to strenght even in their mid, late 60s if they decide to go that far as managers.

Give Mourinho the next Messi and Ronaldo at 16 years old and he will find a way to reject them because they can't run more than the next Oscar.

There was a time when things were going wrong that I would look at Mourinho and believe everything would be okay, but that meltdown in his final season with us ruined him. De Bruyne and Salah should have had Courtois type loan deals. We can't deny it, this was the biggest missed opportunity to become the dominant force of Europe for many many years. Nobody would have stopped a Hazard, Salah and De Bruyne attack. Mount coming through the ranks and Kante, Jorginho behind them with defenders like we have today. Nobody touches that team.

Well we seem to be "matching" City and Liverpool pretty well so far ... especially as we've had the harder run of fixtures !

Liverpool finally manage a win over a top half team. But it was a close-run thing, with United only just hanging on to that status.

Can't believe that at the start of the season Scholes said with a straight face that Chelsea (the European champions) are the weakest amongst united, city and liverpool. Three months later and his precious united are getting thumped 5-0 at home while we sit at the top of the table.

Not surprising coming from somebody that likes to suck his daughters toes.

At least he got one thing right. He said if United play like they did against Atalanta, they would be 3 or 4 nil down at half time.

Straight face? Permanently sour face, you mean.

You should have checked RedCafe during August - the delusional levels were at an all time high.

Same on Twitter. It's amazing how quickly United have turned into Liverpool fans of a few years ago. Remember the old boom bust cycle we used to bring up when talking about Liverpool fans? That fits United's fans more than Liverpool now.

Fergie won't be able to hold off the sacking of his friend for much longer... But the odds say his other friend has some chance of becoming the new player-manager!

We would have been unstoppable for a decade at best

Cristiano Ronaldo hahahahaha

I just hope it won’t be Conte I really like him and it would cause cognitive dissonance

That’s very true and can’t be argued with. But with 29 to go there’s a lot of football to play. Every game is huge, this year more than ever, and our trip to Newcastle will be a good indicator of where we’re at mentally. Going there with the home crowd on the Bruce bounce will be challenging.

Conte is a jerk. I very much doubt you or anyone would hold any liking towards him after a few press conferences.

Ole has just said in response to being asked if he’d piss off ‘We’ve come so far and come so close as a group to give up now’. Is he talking about how far they’re dropping down the table and how close to relegation they’re getting to :laugh2:

Like I said before I fully expected United to be thrashed. Liverpool are in top form, have bested 3 really good sides in the group of death in the CL.

I know we held them with 10 and City beat us while we had 11, but, I hate saying this, liverpools front 3, especially Salah, set them apart from the rest of the league. Will be tough keeping up with them over 38 games.

Out of the top 3 I think probably Liverpool on their day have the strongest team especially with Salah in the form he is in. However they are by far the weakest squad of the three and for that reason Klopp treats the FA cup with complete contempt and makes no effort to win it playing mostly reserves.

Liverpool are only a couple of injuries from being League winning contenders to fighting for top 4. Also does Salah not head off to the African nations in Jan for 4 weeks.

I think Chelsea and City to scrap it out for the League with City slight favourites and Liverpool third.
