Trevoh Chalobah

It's no surprise we are dreadful at set pieces in the attacking end. The only people that can header the ball are too sh*t to be in the XI.

Heading the ball seems to be a dying art, and I'd bet money that it is down to the strong linkage between a career of heading the ball and dementia in older ex-footballers.

Chalboah is not good enough for us imho. He is also a Jehovah Witness and that must be so annoying in the dressing room.

Yes, we need a CB - probably two.  We need a player with some real experience.  IF we had a time machine I would suggest we sign the younger Thiago Silva. Alas we do not have a time machine.  I am not sure what CBs out there are what we need. Jonathan Tah? Dayot Upamecano? Alessandro Bastoni? Piero Hincapié? Rudiger returns?

@Sexyfootball is right. We can do better than Guehi. The bold is just as bad as the chuckle brothers though.

I get they like to preach but is this a reason not to keep him for being a Jehovah's Witness ffs? 😄

I'm not one to shy away from calling a spade a spade, but I haven't seen anything from Fofana to suggest he is clear of Chalobah.

I disagree but say you're right that's all the more reason not to clog up the squad further.

It should only be ceiling raisers from now on.

The Fofana in his first season at Leicester was better than Trev ever has been.

Thar Fofana is long gone, and I agree now he is not a better player than Trev.

Chalobah is more than good enough to be a squad player, easily.

Trev and Alfie should be where Disasi and Tosin are. 4th and 5th choice CBS to cover is 2 of the first choice 3 are out, and can also play other positions as cover.

They are much better players and defenders than Disasi and Tosin, and Badiashile as well.

So if Anselmino or Acheampong are good enough in our top 3 CBS, then great. Sorted. We shall see how they do. If they are not but are better than Alfie and Trev then you sell Alfie and Trev and go and sign 2 CL level cbs to compete with Colwill.

One thing we do know is Disasi, Tosin and Badiashile are not good enough even as 5th choice players and should be sold ASAP, they are barely conference league level.

Unless the option to sell Fofana to Saudi opens up.

Bottom line for me on Trev. Regardless of what you think of him as a player you cannot argue the way the club treated him in the summer, banned from preseason tour, put in the "not wanted group", tried to sell him, eventually loan him etc etc; after all that, and Trev being a top pro through it all, no complaining or moaning.

After all that if we recall him from a settled loan at Palace, where he plays and is wanted, then it is completely shameful the way the club has treated him only to go back begging him to come back reflects just the mess this ownership and SD are.

If we put Josh up for sale tonight he'd be gone by this time tomorow possibly to Real Madrid.

We tried to sell Chalobah all summer and the best that could be done was a loan to a bottom half team.

He's already the better player.

He is also 18 and we have to manage how we use him.

I thought Chalobah turned down a permanent move to Nottingham Forest ? (admittedly it didn't look like a great option back then)

Okay...some journalists are going overboard with this.... everybody is concerned over lil-old-Trevoh...he is employed by Chelsea FC - one of the biggest clubs in the world. If he'd play better, convince his coaches he should be a starter or part of the squad, he'd be there. He wouldn't be out on loan but he is. Fabric of the loan deal is he could be called back or so on. Trevoh knows this perfectly well...why feel bad for him ..?

No one feels bad for him, but the club have messed up.

I actually don't rate Chalobah as a particularly great defender, but one thing is without doubt. He is 100% better than both Disasi and Badiashille and knowing the unreliability of James and Fofana, he should never have been sent out on loan.
