I completely understand why players are excluded from the squad that they will not be part of. Remember what happened with Ziyech when he sat with other players. He stirred up bad blood and made the club feel negative for players that were actually part of the playing squad. I don't think Chalobah himself mind this at all as he knows he is going elsewhere. If he doesn't mind why should you... Sad however how we are obligated to sell our own players to make PSR.

Even if it’s click bait This is not how you treat academy players it’s shocking. If I have my son or daughter who is talented enough to have several options they staying well away from Chelsea Academy even as a fan.
August 10, 20241 yr It's disgraceful. All I can think about is the emotion he showed when he scored his first goal for the club. One of my favourite moments from any academy player. Better than our current CB's, loves the club, but is being forced out by these asshole owners. How is any young player supposed to gain any affinity with the club going forward when they are treated like this? We've become soulless. Edited August 10, 20241 yr by Scott Harris
August 10, 20241 yr I don’t get it. Content with a squad role and already agreed a new deal. Yet still forcing him out. This should infuriate the fanbase more than the Gallagher situation.

Re clickbait, possibly although it's a quote from Matt Law from his Telegraph news piece so I suspect there is some accuracy to it. Re Ziyech, I think he always was a snidey individual and there have been instances where petulant behaviour and contrary body language have been evidenced from him. Trev has been a consummate professional throughout his academy career and his senior career. Re Chalobah not minding about his treatment I think he has already been quoted as being sad and disappointed in the way the club have been treating him. It also illustrates the depth of the sh*t business management from these imposters in that not only have they announced to the world that they want to get rid of Trev by not taking him on tour they are now showing how desperate they are to force him out with this latest issue which will probably push his price down further.

August 10, 20241 yr It seems the more a player loves Chelsea, the quicker Clearlake are to push them out.

With all due respect to Gallagher if all of our midfielders were fit and playing to the form that they are supposed to have the potential for, then, as has been mentioned elsewhere, Gallagher would have struggled to have been a starter. This on the other hand is complete c@ck because fit, form, or any other measure Trev is our best CB. Its Bollox

Broja never showed anything to suggest he could be a squad option at the very least. Just isn’t cut out at this level and his injury removed any future possibility. Chalobah has already proved to be a great option and even at the highest level, IE Champions League, big matches and cup finals. Unlike Mount and Gallagher, he is content with how the club valued him, and now they are completely backtracking and forcing him out.
August 10, 20241 yr For a while now BlueCo have seemingly been systematically cleaning house across the whole club of anyone who had ties to the Abramovich era. I see Trev as the latest example of the continuation of that policy. Just 7 players now pre-date the change in ownership. Kepa, Lukaku and now Trev are for sale ; Chilwell seems to me to be in the process of being marginalised to facilitate a sale ; Bettinelli must surely be on his last legs as 3rd keeper now that we have so many new keepers LOL ; Harvey Vale will probably exit quietly ; and that leaves Reece James as last man standing ... but watch this space LOL ... Conor (I think) didn't actually play for Chelsea before BueCo took over, but again, I think they view him as "old Chelsea" and certainly they haven't played any part in recruiting him, so there is no "sponsor", if you like, among the current hierarchy ... ditto Broja. All standard corporate stuff ...

That is unless they've been accepted by a better academy. Lol Edit....got me thinking. How many academies are there better than chelseas do you guys think? La masia? Edited August 10, 20241 yr by Simplymo Couldn't spell masia, mehhh

Yeah but given many are saying/strongly implying that it's the principal/morality side of it they're mainly unhappy with then it should also apply to Broja, heck it should have also applied to Ziyech last year too.

That was our first league game against Palace at home 2 seasons ago when we beat them 3-0. The whole crowd felt that. It was a wonderful goal but it was more the fact he started that game which was surprising. He had such a good pre-season that Tuchel awarded him with a start and he returned the favour.

It depends at what point in their development. There is a he'll of a lot of competition in the academies and development centres. It's always been the later age groups that have really kicked on at Chelsea but a lot of that historical set up has also been bombed and replaced. I'm not sure where we'll be in 5 years. I'd put a pin in today's graduating squad to see how it compares come then.

Chalobah has been treated MUCH worse and was a fully fledged first team player for Chelsea for years so is bound to get more interest from fans. Not really comparable.

I'd put a pin in today's graduating squad to see how it compares come then. Yeah, it really got me thinking. I've noted it down to do some research on when I'm bored at some point this upcoming week. The only 3 that are rated quite highly by most fans i guess is chels, man city and la masia. There definitely is more. The redbull grp produce good players every now and then too. But with chels for example...How many stories of famous footballers with kids at Cobham. And not only ex chels footballers, but from hated rivals too, lol. Beckham kids for example. Silva spent his whole "prime" life at psg, has very close connections in south america and europe...and only 4 yrs with us (I think) but he instantly fell in love with chelsea and said he "dreams" that his kids go to the chels academy one day. La masia i see more of a tradition and a tribalism thing in spain. Man city is supposed to be the most state of the art. And that's all I know. Would be really interesting to look all this up. Maybe my 7yr old can get into football (yeah, I know, he's too old already. Lol)

August 11, 20241 yr Taken from the Matt Law article so suspect it’s accurate/true. “Chalobah has been barred from using any of the first-team facilities since Chelsea’s return from the pre-season tour of the United States, which he was not taken on. The club recognise the situations of him and Broja will surprise supporters, but believe it is better for them to concentrate on their futures rather than giving a false impression of their prospects.” Absolutely awful for Trev. He doesn’t deserve this at all. Trev is good enough for us to be in the squad and pushing for a first team place. Instead we’re selling academy players and replacing them with sub standard players.
August 11, 20241 yr They are determined to make this a corporate environment instead of a football club, when the boss decided you need to go, get yourself a box, pack it up and do not even get close to the office building in the future. If we lose all Central defenders before the game next week, I assume they will play 3 GKs as defenders instead of calling on Chalobah.
August 11, 20241 yr Disgusting treatment of Trev. I have defended the owners/board through the transition, have defended them about the managers, even transfers - but this is absolutely disgusting. I can understand any decision to say he is not in the first team plans, and will not feature - but to ban him from using club facilities, and make him an outcast is outrageous. Hang your heads in shame Chelsea FC.
August 11, 20241 yr Been with the club since age 9, been nothing but a top professional, regardless of what you think of his ability as a footballer you cannot question his attitude and dedication. Now treated the same way Lukaku is treated.
