If Chilwell can't  crack the lineup today then you have to question his fitness. You can't keep riding him on the bench and expect him to be effective.

It has nothing to do with fitness. Alonso has been our best wingback .

Well... that wasn't quite what I was expecting. I think that's five (or six including Silva) of our first-choice XI in the side? Great to see Chalobah and Hudson-Odoi get in the team, but that midfield concerns me!

Villa similarly hamstrung to be fair - no Martínez or Buendía. Also if my read on their XI is correct they're matching our back three?

Excited for callum to get minutes from the start. I’m surprised Chilwell hasn’t featured yet 

Matty Cash,  McGinn, Ings and Watkins are dangerous players, hope we have the tactics to nullify them

We have 3 left footed attackers and 5 left footers in the team if u add SAUL and ALONSO....

Mad line up, hope it works! Lots of goals in that team though 

I’m nervous! Shouldnt be. Strong line up. We need our best players out there as no easy PL games. We can probably rotate more in Europe. 
good to see Saul start. I am slightly curious if he is quick enough on and off the ball for PL. we shall see.

I agree...I know some the regulars have played 3 international games but always vary of making too many unforced changes...especially at the back...

Loving the lineup. They are all fresh players. No point having a big strong team and playing the same 11 every match.

 

Rotation is key this year. Will keep everyone on their toes and fresh.

More reflection on team. Been calling for us to drop 8 defensive player set up and increase attacking bias. TT has done that, why am I nervous!

Do well to keep a clean sheet today.

But on the plus side no Werner again....

Wouldn't have guessed that starting XI in a million years. Looks to be quite an aggressive, attacking line up. 

Not sure why so many changes, perhaps looking to rest players now given we've got 7 games in the 22 days off the back of the international window. 

Seems risky but Tommy Tactics has steered us right more times than not.
