Absolutely, as he had an end product and directness totally different to Felix.

Felix looks much better than he actually he is, stylish and classy on the ball but does almost nothing with it. As I've said before, all fart and no pooh.

I know Gallagher is a decent player regardless of Mount in a 4-3-3 (obviously playing both wouldn't work) but I'm not sure how sharp he could be in a potential 4-2-3-1 behind the striker, sure he has room to grow as a player but my guess is he'll lose a lot of balls in the process in that more advanced role.

If Mount doesn't figure in Pochettino's 4-2-3-1 then it is highly unlikely that Gallagher will. Mount is twice the player that Gallagher is (OK he isn't but you know what I mean LOL).

This could be exactly the reason why he favours him though. If Mount is a lost cause then Pochettino may well see Gallagher as more of an uncut diamond that he can develop into a better player. Personally I'd sell but reports suggest that Pochettino wants him.

I can't see him in the pivot, and he's not a winger, which just leaves the central attacking midfielder role. Nkunku will almost certainly get that, and if he doesn't then I reckon Havertz or even Chukwuemeka will be much better than Gallagher there.

Gallagher was bang average in the second half of his Palace loan, presumably once opposition teams had worked him out, and all we've seen at Chelsea is a continuation of that. I'd sell while he still has some meat on his transfer fee.

Not had the best season but at least he seemed to care

Pochettino will love Mount and Gallagher. These are soldiers and all manager love player who can do specific job for them.

I agree. Headless chicken for the most part for me. Maybe Pochettino sees something there but there is the homegrown sales value as well.

Apparently 1 club holds a strong interest in Conor (West Ham). 

3 hold a half interest (Newcastle, Liverpool and Brighton), though one report says both Newcastle and West Ham feel our 40mill asking price is too high and that his price should be 20mill.

Our price is quoted at 40mill because we accepted Evertons bid for Cpnor in January of 40mill and see that as a fair price.

Ross Barkley is free... maybe he'll go back to Everton.

Think its quite telling that Mount is going to a CL team for £50m+ with a year left while we can't drum up interest for an offer more than £20m for Conor.

It could be that others are also aware that, for all his admirable energy, his end product isn't good enough. I wonder what Palace would offer to get him back.

Big problem is it's very difficult to judge players at Chelsea primarily because:

1) There are too many players

2) Half or more of the players they are playing with either don't want to be there or know they are on the way out

3) No regular playing pattern, too many managers, systems, fiddling whatever you want to call it

And some player's just don't play well if they don't have a regular place in the team... probably better for him if he does go back to Palace.

I think the McAllister situation will act as a benchmark. Whether it is a release clause or not matters little to the headline hungry press here. He still won the world cup and then moved from Brighton to Liverpool for 35m. If that is the case there is no way Gallagher with a smattering of half decent games with us and Palace and two noticeable headline goals, the one for us being against them,  is going to be valued at 40m. I would be amazed if we got more than 25m for him. Possibly with some ludicrously unrealistic add ons just to make the headlines palatable.

Considering what some players have been sold for in the PL to mid table sides, Conor is definitely worth 35-40m. 

The only club that would bid 20m is one that doesn't really need him and thinks they'll be able to flip him for a profit. Like we thought we'd do with Barkley 😅
