December 22, 20214 yr Just heard there’s a chance it could only be a one leg semi-final. They haven’t decided yet, we would be at home if that is the case. Probably all depends on what Klopp wants to happen or how much he complains, then the FA will obey. Edited December 22, 20214 yr by 2211
December 22, 20214 yr Arent they on a winning streak under conte. We need to beat them, but they put out a complete full strength team today..will be very hard esp with the conte factor.
December 22, 20214 yr They look like they have new manager bounce so they will be tough to beat. We will need to be on our A game to win.
December 22, 20214 yr another clean sheet but attacking wise underwhelming Vale did well Kepa solid Chalobah looked like a senior player today
December 22, 20214 yr Not the best but not too bad either compared to some recent matches, and when it comes to a mid-week league cup quarter final in mid-December, will take the win and progress to the semi-final. Wasa bit of relief seeing Jorginho score the penalty to seal the win, after the Brentford o.g. opener a few minutes earlier - seems appropriate at Christmas that Pontus Jansson scored, considering the chant he used to have at Leeds - except this year, to save us from league cup tears, we gave him the ball to give us a gift 😉 Looks like shaping up to be some competitive match ups for the semi-finals too - pity the foxes couldn't hold out against the scousers, but feck it, spuds, gunners or scousers, hope we do whoever stands in our path and claim the trophy above any of that lot!
December 22, 20214 yr Chalobah is a real find this season. So great to see kova, Kante, and Jorginho all playing in the one game and great to see them used rotation. Also thought Saul now ahead of Barkley, although that doesn’t seem a big ask, and that Harvey kid looked ok.
December 22, 20214 yr Chalobah in defence and another clean sheet, top top player in the making. Kids did ok, especially Vale and Jude SB since they were fresh off no covid illness and had 2 and 1 training sessions respectively. Agree with @Scott Harris, we are too slow to make the final pass. Many times we had 4 or 5 in and around their box and did not try to find them. Just passed it around and lost momentum. Best draw possible because it would not be fun facing Conte in a final.

Would put him ahead of Ruben as well personally, although a very distant 4th choice.
December 22, 20214 yr Last year the league cup semis were single legged, with everything going on at the mo they really need to change them back to one game, and I would say the same if we had been drawn away first. Is ridiculous that the fa cup has scrapped replays, league cup extra time but think a second full match semi is a good idea especially with all that is going on right now. Sort it out seriously .
December 22, 20214 yr Kepa yelled "penalties mofo penalties those are the rules you stupid w**ker" at the poor Brentford player who scored the own goal. Luckily he spoke no Spanish.
December 22, 20214 yr Kepa our MOTM kept us in the match with his reaction saves. Jorginho the iceman with those penalties. Some luck with the first as no-one was near that defender. Pulisic did well to win that penalty. Alonso was decent. Barkley was poor and his shooting has gone not sure why. Saul a little better than recent showings. Our front men struggled in the first seemed out of their depth. Good to see Kante make an appearance too.
December 23, 20214 yr Nice win and good to expose some of our teenage players to senior football even if the selections forced our hand due to covid and injuries. Kepa and Kante the standouts for mine. Bring on Spurs!

December 26, 20214 yr Hope the game's going well. Saw the score and here's to hoping the game is not totally out of our control
