January 21, 20224 yr Assuming you haven’t been living on the moon for the past few months you might have noticed we have a bit of a wing back/full back crisis going on. Over the past couple of years we’ve seen two of our youth right backs flourish in the premier league (well, three if you wanna include James) and become key players for their team. Lamptey and Livramento were sold on the cheap due to their contract coming up and them feeling ready to play premier league football which has proved to be the correct decision for both of them. Hypothetically, if the opportunity arose in the summer to sign only one of these back (we’ll assume for roughly the same money) which one would you pick? I think they’re both fantastic players and at such a young age they’ll only get better, but for me I’d pick Lamptey, what a player, his speed is unbelievable, great crosser and a very good defender to boot.
January 21, 20224 yr Tariq for me. His speed of course, but just as impressive for me is how direct he is. He gets the ball and just wants to beat his man, exactly what we need.
January 21, 20224 yr Livramento for me, Lamptey too much of a dwarf for Chelsea, basically a midget and at the very top level of the game these kind of players are rarely seen in top teams for a reason. In addition to this, Lamptey commits fouls quite easily and his tackling a bit suspect in general. Only nitpicking here though 😅, both are top quality just not as perfect as Reece James; as supported by our scouts and academy higher ups.

January 23, 20224 yr Deffo both. With Livramento we have a back back clause. With Lamptey it might be harder especially with some big teams circling as well.
January 25, 20224 yr Both are good options.. Voted Tino due to - buyback clause - seems to less injury prone among the two.

January 25, 20224 yr Good question. Pretty hard to decide right now IMO. I assume Lamptey would be a better fit because of his offensive contributions, but let's wait until the end of the season. They are pretty much on a similar level.
January 25, 20224 yr Assuming Reece is first choice RWB, then the only way either would come back is if they were planned for use in a different position. They both left because they were unhappy with the prospect of being squad fillers. With that in mind Tariq might be the better option of the 2 as I could see him being very effective as a winger instead of a wing back/full back.

Tino is brilliant offensively too and before he got injured, there was one point where he was in the top 5 for dribbles attempted and was up in the top 5 list for most fouled against, which is amazing. He is bigger also as well, which is why I slightly prefer Tino as he is able to deal with aerial duels better. Worth noting also that Tino often played as a winger for our youth teams as well as Lamptey.
February 2, 20224 yr Lamptey for me, love him as a player. Not sure if you could play him in a back 4 though.

February 7, 20224 yr Tino is the much better of the two. Could have James in the RCB role or CM if he ever came back.

April 26, 20224 yr Get well soon Tino. Maybe they should send him back to our medical department as Chilwell is making good progress on his injury.

April 27, 20224 yr Lamptey has to be one of the quickest, if not the quickest, player in the EPL. Edited April 27, 20224 yr by just
