They're going to have to get him off their books, If we want him I think it'll happen quite soon.

In all honesty though, for the sort of money going talked about de Jong, with wages as well, I would rather we went after Locatelli.  De Jong would be a stellar signing but pandering to those cheating b*starts, and I'm a big Locatelli fan.

Barcelona not being able to register their new players is something i would love to see. Maybe we can sit on De Jong till January when they are already to far behind to reach CL football next season.

1350 pages!! my god do you have a link?

imagine we get him and they have a 1350 page thread and we a 13 page thread because we just went in quick

That‘s not the only way to read it though, lol. 😉

They do this all the time, they w**k really hard over a player only to not sign him, talking in depth about how they fit in etc. save it for when he's actually there.

And then say they dodged a bullet after signing for another club.

This is madness. If this was Chelsea, I would be fuming.

”However, Barcelona were warned by La Liga on Friday that they will not be allowed to register any of their new signings unless further cuts are made.

They are understood to be still £126m short of the desired figure to meet financial guidelines so must still lower player salaries, and offload the likes of Frenkie de Jong with Chelsea and Manchester United chasing the midfielder.”

Based on the above we should minimise the cash offered for De Jong via negotiation and player exchanges*. We should pay De Jongs back pay to smooth it with him. Absolute minimum cash to Barca would be lovely.

They might have to sell some of the players that they cant register and or not pay them. Looking forward to September 2nd. Good luck to Leeds.

* we could offer them Alonso and Kenedy Baba Rahman Barkley Emerson and one or two others.

Barca are putting themselves under massive pressure financially. I’m sure they’ll get the money and come to an agreement with de Jong somehow but it will go to the wire.

Im amazed how they conduct their business. Basically went broke, sold their broadcasting rights until 2075 and continue like nothing happened.

Reports tonight that La Liga has rejected Barca’s efforts to register its glut of new players. Laporta told us wage bill was currently at €551m and needed to be reduced, instead it has gone up. Assets sold haven’t been enough. More future income now on the block to sign players

While Lewandoski was juggling balls at the now Spotify Camp Nou, La Liga was telling Barcelona it could not register him or others unless it raised funds by selling further assets and reducing its payroll. 🎪

Don't see where he'd fit in. We have Jorginho, Kovacic, Kante, Gallagher, Loftus-Cheek, ths new Chuk guy, all for 2 CM positions.

Interesting if it’s la liga rejecting player registration can they still play in the Champions League?

we could buy him and loan him to United for a 15 million pound fee + salary, use him next season if Jorginho goes

and the best part of this master plan is that when we play United the player that is most crucial for how they play cannot play, creating chaos giving us an easy win Cat Devil GIF by jjjjjohn

Given that Bayern have banged five past Leipzig and six past Frankfurt, I wonder whether Lewandowski was actually Ronaldoing out there. Not actually helping the team win, just get his individual stats, and cause the Bundesliga is just an exhibition between Harlem Globetrotters and 17 Washington Generals, nobody noticed.

I was thinking this myself as the rumours are hotting up...I reckon Jorgihino would be the one to leave, maybe back to Juve?  Chuck isn't going to play very much apart from a few early rounds of cup competitions unless he's turning out to be the absolute superstar that many believe his is...although from what I've seen I'm not blown over by all the hype, as I have never been either with CHO.   We are crying out for a creative midfielder, whether De Jong fits the bill I don't know, but it would certainly piss Utd off and wind Gary Neville up.

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if de Jong bottles out of coming to England and takes a reduced wage so they squeeze their registrations in. If we are prepared to go in as hard there are plenty of other clubs that need the cash without them and the players pi$$ balling us about
