Raheem Sterling signs for Chelsea

I don’t rate Richarlison at all, I think Everton is his level definitely. Sterling is one of the best players in league and has been for a while, to sign him for 35m would be an incredible move by us.

He’s so much better than what we’ve got, he immediately improves our attack. For 35m I definitely take that, rather than spending 100m on Lukaku, or 50m on Timo, or 90m on Havertz.

Sterling and Dembele would be incredible business.

Word is that we're looking at £60M

£35M and non mental wages would be a winner however we really need to sort out other key areas also

If sterling's the only player we bring in we will be lucky to be in the top 6 next season IMO

Marina reportedly offered 25 + add ons hahahaha that's why all our transfers take so long

but 131 goals and 95 assists and he's only 27… that's decent for under 50 million

Maybe she can get a good deal afterall!

The other problem is that hes 30 going on 31!

Retirement plan!

Chelsea, meanwhile, believe a fairer price would be closer to the £35m which Bayern Munich could end up paying for Liverpool forward Sadio Mane.

Mane also has just 12 months left on his deal at Anfield, but at 30 is two years and eight months older than Sterling.

Sky in Italy have reported a £35m offer from Chelsea

My bad i just looked at his stats, It's mane whos 30!

4 years maybe left on sterling so for 35m then its not so bad

Can see him getting a lot of stick he will miss 7/10 efforts at goal but will add something to the attack, More than lukaku anyway!

Much rather have Mane. Fantastic work ethic and a real eye for goal.

Never going to happen though.

The scary thing is.. City will be weaker without him as an option, which could mean they are going for Gnarby, might as well give them the title now if that’s the case.

I still hate the idea of actually injecting cash into Man-City, if it isn’t bad enough they had all their shady deals and unlimited funds, us & Arsenal looking to balance their books on top of all that ffs.

Sterling is 3 years younger than Mane and home grown but more importantly actually wants to live and play in London and for us.

Mane was never an option as good a player as he may be.

Opening bid or 25mill plus add ons turned down, not surprising as City want 60mill as they wish to bring in 100-110mill from him and Gabriel and the latter's price to Arsenal is thought ro be between 40-45mill.

It’s an embarrassing signing. It’s a signing that just screams “Abramovich has gone, and this is how it is now”. I doubt Newcastle would even consider this signing.

You are not wrong. Roman has gone, we don't dine at those tables anymore, perhaps soon Newcastle will but for now only City and Pool do in the PL, and is not always pool do only sometimes.

Why would Chelsea overpay for Sterling who might have difficulty cracking City’s lineup in the 2022/2023 season? Wait it out as City is looking for money to acquire Philips and Gnabry. Plus I am not sure that Sterling would be committed to pressing under Tuechel’s system.

He is on £300k/w already, and is definitely not moving for a pay cut.

Gnabry? More like Saka who has 2yrs left on his contract.

My issue with Tuchel & his targets is there doesn’t seem to be a long term plan, in comparison to a Klopp or Pep. It’s about the now, or medium term. The reality is we are not going to win the league anytime soon, so why not go after targets with a long term plan. Roman is gone, so the risk of getting sacked is very low.

I don't think he will reach the same scoring heights at us as he did at City but this is his numbers last 5 seasons in all comps:

17/18: 23 Goals, 17 Assists,  18/19: 25 goals  17 Assists,  19/20: 31 goals  10 Assists,  20/21: 14 goals  12 Assists, 21/22:  17 goals   9 Assists

They are brilliant numbers. For a player who pulls that numbers every season at a team, regardless of their quality, that is impressive. Last season 17 goals is a decent return for him, when you consider the amount of times he was left on the bench. If he had stated more games, he defo would of got near the 30 mark I am sure. Grealish started more games and did not score more than 5 goals right? So I think any deal up to £50m, we should be snapping up. Mane left for Bayern which people are calling a good deal and that deal with bonuses will reach £35m. When you consider that Sterling has 3 years on Mane, I would consider anything up to £50m a good deal for a player who has proven to score, assist and creates numerous amount of pens with his dribbling ability.

Sterling will be an upgrade over timo because he offer better technical and dribbling skill while still giving you that run to the box ability. However, I don't see him scoring 20/30 goals for us.

If we use timo 1st year xg number as benchmark, sterling will probably score 10-15 goals for us.

We haven't dined at city's table in a long time and won't dine there again whilst they are state run, Roman or no roman. And I'm glad we don't.

We are at the same table as Liverpool, they are coming to the end of a cycle and look more polished but they need to replace Salah and VVD.

They already have replaced Salah. The combination of Diaz, Nunez and Jota is a really good one. I don't think there is a rush to replace VVD.

Agree, Mane is more complete than sterling but like you said will never happen.

But honestly why sign a 30/28 years old. We should go for 24 or younger player because let's say we got mane next season, are we going to win the league, nope. Are we going ot win cl? who the hell know.

Let's just stick Lamp plans and build for long-term. (of course if you don't have any cb like what happen to us right now then you need to sign one)

They've replaced him literally but none of those three are (yet) match winners like Salah.

Chelsea see value in a loan and Todd Boehly is keen to end Lukaku’s exit saga and ensure it doesn’t drag on through the window. Chelsea will now turn their attentions to Raheem Sterling, although Sterling is yet to decide on his future.

#CFC & #MCFC are also significantly apart on a fee. Man City ideally want close to £60 million. But sources close to the club admit they may settle for a similar fee to Gabriel Jesus. That would put Sterling on the market for around £45 million with add ons on top.

Lots of negotiation to be done, on fee and with Sterling. But there is a willingness on all sides. Sterling hasn’t yet made any final decisions but is thought to be very open to a move to Stamford Bridge if a fee can be agreed.
