Chelsea on the other hand was hung out to dry by the government without anyone fighting our corner and even had sections of media virtually willing for us to go into administration. June 27, 20224 yr https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61959238 BBC saying we've officially made contact, and are about to submit an offer.
June 27, 20224 yr Chelsea made contact with Manchester City over Raheem Sterling today. Bid for the England forward expected soon. Confidence on all sides it will be done #cfc #mcfc Hot days are here!
June 27, 20224 yr According to Romano, personal terms agreed, just need to figure out the fee for him.
June 27, 20224 yr Ugh. Waste of money. He'll be no better than what we have, dribbling into blind alleys, wasting chances. Plus doesn't he hate us anyway, after he claimed he was racially abused by a fan a while ago? Strange transfer in many regards.

We don't really have dribblers bar Pulisic, who also seems to have declined in that department. Also his goals and assists read a lot better than what we already have. I think he would be a brilliant signing. Exactly the kind of player we need.

Sterling is like Prime Messi compared to the dross we currently have.
June 27, 20224 yr He would most definitely be an upgrade in the right direction for our attacking players. I miss having a fast player who can run with the ball. Maybe no Eden Hazard, but he will take us up a notch at least, and he's English so bonus there too.
June 27, 20224 yr Cautiously optimistic, but more hoping he doesn't turn out to be a complete non-event like the last winger we signed from Manchester City ....

June 27, 20224 yr Be silly to suggest this isn't an upgrade. Sterling is miles ahead of the likes of Pulisic and Ziyech who were poor last season. He's 27 and in his prime which is also a bonus.
June 27, 20224 yr I think he will be a fantastic signing. I’m almost certain he will grab double digits in assists and goals, last season I think it was only Mason Mount who managed it and a lot of people think he’s our best player. Sterling is a huge upgrade on what we have in attack.
June 27, 20224 yr He may just possibly be a slight improvement on the hopeless wingers we have, but Man City’s hand me downs of players they no longer wants sets in concrete where we are - absolutely bloody miles behind them and getting further back and humiliating ourselves in the process. We’ll pay more for him than they have for Haaland. That’s why they keep inside FFP rules. Us and Arsenal paying crazy money for their cast offs. Given the Roman days are over, I’d much rather us take a punt on someone from the Slovenian second tier that a scout has spotted. This signing will disappoint me like no other.

He’s a decent upgrade on every player we have in the wide positions, if not him who? Given who’s seemingly available I don’t think we could do much better for a wide player.

He’s just had a crap season for his standards didn’t he, playing back up to Grealish. He still managed 13 goals and 5 assists, despite being 2nd choice. What did Havertz, Pulisic, Timo, CHO, Ziyech get?
