July 30, 20223 yr New season in a week, lots of failed signings, still no sign at all of adding QUALITY where we need it? We’re looking a bit of a laughing stock in world football at the moment aren’t we. Tuchey can’t be a happy man. Sorry it’s a right moan but I’ve stayed off the site all week and just needed a last minute vent of frustrations at ridiculously high expectation that we’re in for a good season turning to sh*t. Discuss! Edited July 30, 20223 yr by thebluekid

Discuss! Try saying that to a Bury, Derby or Oldham fan.
July 30, 20223 yr You are the most negative poster on here who enjoys sh*tting on the club with almost every post. I don't believe that you are a Chelsea fan.

Definitely not the most negative, I’m up there but can’t take that award; I can confirm though, I am a fan.
July 30, 20223 yr TT may not be happy, however he could have had Gabriel Jesus leading the line and Kounde to join Silva and Koulibaly in defence but he chose not to sign them, so part of our lack of depth is on him.

I think we are in for a shambles of a season. Seeing as I’m the most negative poster on here, here are a few:- Completely shelling any confidence in Timo last year by picking a fat, useless door stop over him has now cost us 25 goal contributions a season; Thiago Silva might get found out this season as, although he’s a bloody legend, how long can he keep this up? We have an attack that can’t hit a barn door; Signed a winger who is coming from a team that could pick a pass akin to a needle in a haystack… In to a team that couldn’t find water if they fell out of a boat; No defensive midfielder and Kanye on his absolute last legs as a player now; Chilwell coming back from one of the most demanding injuries in the world of sport to the most demanding role in the world of football. Yeh, it’s grim. Not predicting any higher than 5th.

I doubt it's as cut and dry as that. Seems like Arsenal were favorites to sign Jesus even before the window opened. Probably the Arteta/Pep factor coming into play there.

Would you (and anyone else convinced were screwed and the NL duo are so incredible) be prepared to put your money where your mouth is in the form of a wager? How about I donate 50 pound to the forum if we don't make top four, you do the same if we do? Edited July 30, 20223 yr by Argo

Blame the current sh*tshow of affairs going on in the UK at the moment.

I think it is, just like I believe Sterling would have turned down Arsenal for us despite the Arteta factor if Arsenal had tried for him, with us having Silva here and CL football am sure GJ would have chosen us had we tried.

Discuss! I find it a bit ridiculous when I see this stuff at the moment. And I'll breakdown why: Last preseason many had as as title challengers and quite few pundits said we'd win the league. Well let's look at where we are at this season - Adding Sterling to our attack is massive and an instant upgrade. Adding Koulibaly to our defense is an upgrade as well. Our rotational options are upgraded with Gallagher, Emerson, Broja. So in short we are better placed. Meanwhile Liverpool lost their best attacker, and City lost 30 goals, and are experimenting with a striker that may adversely affect their system. Are we where we want to be at the minute? No. But injuries permitting I think we'll be right up there. Edited July 30, 20223 yr by venom2011

July 30, 20223 yr We signed two very good players and theres still a month left to the transfer window. We got rid of Lukaku and Werner is close to leaving. Chilwell is back. Silva and Kanté are still alive. Still have one of the best academy in the world and 5 academy players are gonna be regulars. The new owners looks like they are ready to invest big money. Stamford Bridge is about to get renovated. Burnley are in the championship. Its not 3 pre seasons games who's gonna make pessimistic about the season. Yes we need quality players, yes we need to get rid of half the squad, yes we could play better football, yes barca made us look like bad and yes Tuchel could be more humble and stop calling his players sh*t everytime something go right. I understand fans wants to challenge for the PL crown but the club is going thru a lot of big changes and its gonna take more then one transfer window to overhaul the squad and for Boehly to get how this football thing works. We still gonna finish in the top 4 and get to a final somehow.
July 30, 20223 yr Transfer window melancholy is such a teen thing, my grandson is showing signs of it, any adult suffering from it needs to get a grip and a have cold shower if you ask me.

July 31, 20223 yr We are going down for sure. Looking forward to Rotherham away next season, we owe them big time for the 6-0 in '81.
July 31, 20223 yr The two games against Udinese have me confidence.. we were completely different pressing high up and not letting the opppo breathe.. Kante was very sharp and mount was very dangerous.. sterling will score . Even at city he scored scrappy goals and his finishing has always been hit and miss but somehow he manages .. I have seen enough to think he will do the job. If we can get one class defender and a lwb I think we will be fine.. plus RLC yesterday was unplayable and going past people for fun.. so I think it’s not all doom and gloom.. on you blues !! July 31, 20223 yr We shall see soon enough after the Everton and Spud games, this is the calm before the storm...
July 31, 20223 yr And judging by his performance in the Community Shield yesterday, we dodged a right bullet with Haaland. Always have to look on the bright side as @axman2526 would say.

July 31, 20223 yr The thing is the signings we have made (Sterling and Koulibaly) have been really good, it's just the fact that we've missed out on targets and are still saddled with too many mediocre deadwood players from the Marina era that's making things look so bad. If we can get either Fofana or Gvardiol in this would still be a good window Edited July 31, 20223 yr by Drogba1
