The problem isn't who is better. You can try playing carney next to Enzo but how do you plan to stop opp in transition? 

Ruben isn't great defensively but at least he is better than carney.

Neither are suited to that role, we've needed a holding mid since Matic left. Hopefully we get that sorted in Summer.

RLC currently has a shedload more experience. Carney has the higher ceiling. Let's see what Pochettino can do with him.

Did well against Man Utd I thought. Assuming we move RLC on in the summer, he can take his place as a rotation option in CM.

Agree.

This young lad looks promising. His ability to carry the ball from midfield looks impressive. 

Depending on incomings and ourgoings he is 50:50 a rotational player or should be loaned out.

 

I think he will score a lot of goals if he plays regularly.  Really like the positions he takes up and the way he attacks the box in support of the forwards.

I hope Carney is part of Pochettino's plans next season. It would really twist my sh*t if he let Carney leave and kept Conor.

Thansk for the imagery, but can't disagree with the sentiment.

To ship out this amount of players and not let these potential stars of the future not get a chance, would be ridiculous.

Potential has very little value nowadays, its all about delivery now. 22 is the new 28 apparently.

Rumoured to be going AC Milan on loan. Although he needs the experience i think he showed enough promise towards the end of last season to stay and fight for his place. Looking very thin in the middle of the park now.

Only the club knows if they have midfielders all but signed up to replace all the ones we have lost so far. I'm assuming they are competent and have 2 or 3 ready to go in which case keeping Carney at the club may not be the best idea, especially with no Europe games to force heavy rotation.

Assuming we sign Caicedo which looks to be in the pipeline that leaves us with Enzo and Caicedo as the only 2 CM's really good enough to start for us now. We're desperate for someone a bit older in the middle, if that happens i'd have Chuk as 4th choice.

If we play 433 like Pochettino normally does we will need more than 2 experienced CM's to be signed. Ideally 3 and that's assuming Mount stays.

Carney would be more like 6th choice as I see no benefit in us selling Gallagher now. Even if you think he's awful and won't ever improve, we can still get the same amount or close to the quoted £20m after a season under Pochettino. 

I’d be keeping Gallagher and carney and buying Caicedo. That’s 4 competing for 3 spots in 4 3 3 and about right. Carneyanfgalkagher both need minutes. If we alsough bought say Barella I can’t see carney getting the minutes.

Sure Pochettino always favoured a 4231 at Spurs? Only need to cover the double pivot, we've got a plethora of talent for the front 4 spots.

He may have used 4231 at Spurs due to Eriksen being one of their best players but I'm pretty sure he favors 433.

Can't see anything other than Enzo plus one other in a pivot (need cover too) and Nkunku and the '10' that can drop deep to progress the ball or run off the striker. Then you have winger either side and big striker up top.

He had to accommodate both Dele and Eriksen somehow. Varied from a 4231 to 343. Typically Dier would drop with the CBs and Eriksen would transition centrally and Walker taking up that right space. 

Can't really speculate until we see what he does preseason.
