August 5, 20223 yr I like his confidence - think his self-belief might be perceived as arrogance. I know nothing about him but am quite excited by this signing.
August 5, 20223 yr Author The breakthrough in Carney Chukwuemeka’s move to Chelsea came at a dinner in London where Boehly invited executives from 19 premier league clubs. Boehly and Villa Chief Christian Purslow sat together, with Carney at the heart of the talks. (@greggevans40 @TheAthleticUK)

August 5, 20223 yr So, are we expecting him to break through the team or are we still a couple of years away? Ive never watched him play.

I'd probably imagine 10-15 appearances from the bench with him starting the early round of the cup games. More likely to see him next season when Jorginho and Kante leave.
August 21, 20223 yr Still extremely surprised the player himself chose to make this move (at least until I look at the £ involved). At this stage of his career, it seems like he would have wanted to go somewhere he's guaranteed to get regular game time a la Jude Bellingham. Very unlikely he's going to secure one of our two central midfield spots over Jorginho/Kante/Kovacic/Gallagher/Loftus-Cheek in the next few years, even without mentioning that we're still trying to sign other CMs like De Jong.

"Very" unlikely? Kante and Jorginho won't be at the club in 24 months. And Kante and kovacic are always injured. He will have every opportunity to prove himself if he's good enough.

Strongly disagree, i think he's viewed this perfectly. Kante and Kovacic are always injured, Jorginho's contract is running down and he's sh*t, RLC and Gallagher don't really suit a 2 man midfield. Any CM should be licking their lips right now at the thought of getting into our midfield within the next year.
August 22, 20223 yr Should get some game time on Saturday if not starting. What's the point of signing one of the promising 20 year old for 20M and not playing him, when you are without couple of key MFs and the third one out of form horribly?

At this point I wouldn't mind seeing all those kids we bought thrown in
