He's basically pre-injury RLC. Can carry the ball, create a shot, find a pass. Big future. 

We should keep him, he needs to grow with us because there is a big talent in him.

There is a place for him, he can play as 10 and as 8. 

When we play more offensive game and have the ball most of the time in attacking possession, he is very good addition in this game, showed it pretty good in the pre-season.

Was thinking exactly that on the RLC comparison. 

Very excited for the lad, as we got Pochettino in with his record of developing good young prospects and Carney is certainly a player who could well flourish.

 

Wonder what the odds are on a 6 month + injury at some point this season that'll kill another young player that looks destined for greatness.

What I loved about the second goal, and all of preseason really, was how these players were hounding down the opposition if they lost the ball. 

Think we will see a lot of Nkunku + Carney together.

Another strong game. Would have scored had he kept his on target shot on the ground. Think he has a higher ceiling than havertz. 

Shame about that missed opportunity. One too many passes in the build up.

Theres a good chance hes playing himself into the starting line up for the Premier league games from these pre season ones, been very impressive and showing why we were so desperate to get him here.

Only pre season but I'm starting to second guess my assessment of him, hopefully he keeps this up in league games.

For starters, he's actually playing. Last season's invisible man for whatever sh*t-managerial reasons. He's talented, let him grow.

In fairness I kind of understand why he wasnt picked early on in the season, a kid new to the club should be allowed to settle before being threw in sometimes. Later on though it made no sense, especially as he looked so good when he did get game time.

Dodgy start but grew into the game and linked up well - in the position he plays needs to be a goal threat.

I thought he was rubbish to be honest. I didn't expect him to look so out of place, I thought today would have been a fresh start for him.

He was excellent after maybe 30 minutes. 

Was pretty invisible if honest. I forgot he was playing most of the time.

No he wasn't. I don't know where anybody is getting the idea that he was good, he was rubbish.

Thought he was class after the first 25. Lost track how many times he got a tight pass out wide to Reece from the left.

A bit harsh. He wasn't bad, he just didn't do anything. You wouldn't have noticed if we have replaced him with any of our random youth players from the academy.

If you're not doing anything, then you're playing rubbish. It was a rubbish performance from him, he spent most of the game hiding.

Decent enough performance. Something to build on for a 19 year old making only his 5th Premier League start ever.

Colwill is only a few months older by the way and I thought he was excellent in the 2nd half. Should I not be judging his performance?

Poor in the first half but grew into it. His final ball lacking but his ability to turn and carry the ball is good. We could feel his absence when he was subbed off tbh.

Say what you like. Just not sure what you're expecting when he's a 19 year old, in his 5th start, playing attacking midfield against Liverpool. The kid will take time to grow into the role. It's all good experience for him.
