This many injuries after just 2 games is absurd and if the first two performances are anything to go by, then it doesn't seem like much has changed at all. Unlike last season, I don't think we will get enough points early on and I am now resigning myself to the fact that this club is well on it's way to a dark period in it's history. Absolutely nothing is going right for us and we just can't break out of the cycle. No club can be in turmoil this long before it catches up with them and lands them in serious trouble, and we have been like this since Roman Abramovich was sanctioned. 21 minutes ago, RMH said: Blimey! There are many more out there feeling like I do, they just don't have as big of a mouth as me and keep their opinion to themselves 😆

I cannot go full on negative on here anymore or @dkwboxes my ears in. ;) And after getting my hopes up to have the men's side side ram though up where the sun don't shine I hope I have learned my lesson.

Scott matey, I think your problem is that you're expecting too much. I was completely with you last season, I bloody hated it because it was a waste of time and effort, an absolute circus quite frankly. But this season is a fresh start, I'm not expecting anything great, just some progress from the talent that we've acquired. It wouldn't be possible for us to become a great team overnight with all the new players all at once, it's not practical. But it had to be done unfortunately. The injuries are annoying me also, because even when we have a good result, an injury is always there to ruin the day. But as for this season, expect nothing, and you won't be disappointed, hell, find some enjoyment in it. I usually find this forum quite funny after a defeat I can't lie, hopefully, TimesUpPotter comes back under a new guise, that was a belter IMHO!
August 21, 20232 yr My fault for picking him in my fantasy team I guess ... I had De Bruyne as well LOL I've done an MCL ski-ing. Very common ski injury apparently. Novice skier in a white out on a black run. What could go wrong ? Oh, and it was icy as well. And right at the top of the mountain. And the first very run of the holiday 🙂 I fell, the binding didn't release, and when my MCL went it made a "crack" sound like a bull whip. I skied down as best I could on one leg and then spent three days limping about in the apres ski area drinking far too much gluhwein while everyone else in my party had a ball on the slopes. Stupidly never had it looked at by a medical professional ... just limped about for a month as it gradually got better (sort of). Never went ski-ing again, and for years I couldn't run properly either (knee kept hyperextending). I had a physical exam years later and was told that my fibula was flapping about out of position at the top of my knee, so I guess it didn't really heal properly, although it doesn't bother me at all now 29 years later. 🙂

I’m kinda there on the doom and gloom also - spent a lot of yesterday afternoon in a right old grump! Have to lower expectations and not be surprised when you’re still disappointed. I’ll take two goals first, and a win one day please!

That and he doesn't have to act the tough guy in front of a couple of tasty German girls that had invited me ski-ing 🙂
August 21, 20232 yr I had hopes that carney was gunna be the star of the team, more maturity at such a young age and coupled with so much ability. His goal was excelkent but so was an earlier incident where he overpowered was it Souchek over on the touch line and got down to the byline. Ah well not to be.

August 21, 20232 yr He is young enough to bounce back - and think he can play a big part for years to come. This is a real shame as he was growing into the role probably more than anyone else in the side.

I've posted much the same citing him as a potential Bellingham for us. Who knows what Carney we'll get back and when.
August 22, 20232 yr Update from club app says he has had surgery. No timeframe for return given, but I highly doubt it is 6 weeks

If they have had to do a simple arthroscopy to clear out debris it's possible.

August 22, 20232 yr Never seen a club have such high volume of serious injuries as we do. Something is seriously wrong at our club in that department. Edited August 22, 20232 yr by Chelsbear

What do you suggest the club does about a player's boot catching in the pitch? Or a combination of a substandard pitch and a heavy oppo challenge? Or an oppo player landing with their full weight on top of an outstretched leg? That's Carney, Nkunku and Broja.

Been like this for 2 seasons now. If you think it's a coincidence that's up to you
