It means that unlike the press would have you believe, the club wrote a severance term into the contract.

Today is like winning a 3rd champions league.

Sacking Potter has made me happy enough to make my first post.  A long overdue sacking as he should have gone during the world cup but we got there in the end.

Today is the highlight of our season and the first step to getting us back were we belong!   KTBFFH

Sounds like there’s a clause to protect the club then. 

I still don't think Potter is deserving of the flack he's been given, but it was growing pretty clear that this wasn't going to turn around. I think he'll rebuild his reputation at a club like Leicester or West Ham and be in line for top jobs or England very soon. 

I for one wish him well. Seems a proper good guy.

That's a stretch. They need someone that can get them out of the Championship not finish 10th 😂

He's gotten an 8 figure pay off. And to be honest most mid table Prem clubs would still take him. Everyone wins here

So it seems this was led by not Boehly. Hopefully these new people are up to par. 

Anyway we are showing stunning lack of resolve. But Boehly and his people are learning the ropes as we go..Potter failed in the short time he was here. He was well liked by everyone but results made his fate....

 

 

Had to happen, we all would had loved him to sort it out and get us firing but it was wasn’t working and he looked completely out of his depth. Get a proper world class manager in now that’s used to winning at the top level.

What's that " Potter out now" member  gonna write about now ?

The only rational decision given the circumstances. I can understand why it took so long. Mathematical possibilities, clauses and so on.... 

Wish you well GP but not cut out for any big jobs yet. You lucked into this one.

I feel the fresh air suddenly...

Was thrown in at the deep end and sank because the task was just too big for him.   Can understand why the bright lights and glitz and glamour of SW6 was so attractive too him, having been pumped up by the media and pundits alike who put him on a pedestal due to the fact that he was English and doing a decent job at Brighton clawing out some decent results against the big boys.   Still, he's set for life, so he'll never have to work again.  Now he's free I would not be surprised if the English FA have him short listed for the England job.

What this does is reset everything once again. Just 7 months ago we did the last reset. 

We won't reach CL so this season is already almost certainly done. An amazing CL run would save us but I don't see it.
