June 26, 20233 yr Read today that Bully & Co will not pay more than 80 mill for this lad, Bloom knocked the Gooners back in January for offering around the same (70-80 mill) and its also being reported Brighton now want 120 mill quid. Unless its all media lies cant see this deal getting done unless a Saudi club comes in for him?
June 26, 20233 yr He's agreed personal terms with us, Arsenal, Man utd. Anyone who will take him. It's all kind of pointless until someone stumps up the obscene money Brighton will demand. Hope we walk away.

Brighton has promised him that he will be allowed to move this summer. I don't think brighton is stupid. Blocking players to move to bigger clubs is never a good idea.

June 28, 20233 yr Like someone said on another WAGNH.... I ain't counting my Caicedos until they hatch on this one

June 28, 20233 yr Having said that, I don't think we should get drawn into a bidding war for Caicedo. He is undoubtedly a good player but certainly not the only one in this whole wide world. We need a dedicate DM that allows Enzo to move forward more and I daresay we ve not looked hard enough. For starters, we can ask City for Kavin Phillips either on loan or outright purchase, Zubimendi of Sociedad, Onana or Doucoure at Everton and tons of other serviceable DMs in the French league... Sangare etc.
June 28, 20233 yr Seems like its Caicedo + another CM. I'd like a traditional DM but seen no links atm. Could be where Ampadu could provide some use. Pochettino will need to utilize one of the CBs or fullbacks to provide some influence in midfield.

I don't think we would stand a chance of a permanent deal but a loan could work if the Caceido thing doesn't happen. Maybe a loan for Tchoumeni and a permanent for Lavia
June 28, 20233 yr Author One of the reasons United have not met our price for Mount is they have a specific budget and a midfielder is below a striker in their list of priorities apparently. Moises will cost more than we ask for Mount, at least 80mill by all reports. If the takeover takes to long can they afford that, and a Striker, and a keeper? Will see. Will see how the Mount talks go but apparently both us and United are set for face to face talks with Brighton between now and Friday.
June 30, 20233 yr Everything points to him signing for us. Maybe, given the buggering we got with Cuccurella, they'll go easy with the transfer fee! It's looking like maybe £75m rising to £90m? I'll be honest, I didn't catch many games outside of Chelsea last season, but he seems very highly rated. What's everyone's opinion of this guy? (Odds for his next club below) Edited June 30, 20233 yr by Hessleboink
June 30, 20233 yr If Man City goes for him, he would most likely sign for them. Maybe if we asked nicely they can sell Kalvin Phillips to us cheap. He is not bad as a DM at all

June 30, 20233 yr The deal being accepted isn't the issue, plenty will offer what we do. It comes down to the player
