November 6, 20223 yr Mendy - 4 - Looked nervous throughout. Azpilicueta - 6 - Can't do it in a back 4 but tried his hardest to do the things his body won't let him do anymore. Out numbered in defence because of a lack of help from Sterling. Experience got him through it. Chalobah - 7 - Solid again Silva - 7 - If it wasn't for him and Chalobah, Arsenal would have scored a few more. Cucurella - 2 - Terrible. Can't defend to save his life and you could actually see the fear on his face. I don't want a player that is visibly scared playing for the club. Jorginho - 3 - Eaten alive out there, as expected. Loftus-Cheek - 3 - Not good enough, nothing left to say really. How the f**k he starts in that midfield is mind blowing. Mount - 2 - Worst game I have ever seen from Mount. Sterling - 3 - A few nice passes into Havertz in the first half.......that's it. Unless it's a team that will dominate the game and supply the passes for him to get a tap in, he will look out of his depth. Havertz - 2 - Had enough of him. He never plays like he cares. He had two excellent chances to create something in the 1st half but wasted them both. Aubameyang - 1 - More money wasted. Subs: I don't care, they were all just as sh*t.

All three of them were awful - their points haul has increased massively this season, whilst we are continuing our 6th-placed form of the entirety of 2022. The warning signs were there. Unfortunately, we didn't act on it at all and are paying the price. We all saw it. We all knew Tuchel was trying to improve things and the new board failed on every test. What we didn't foresee is Tuchel's sacking 6 games in only to be replaced by a worse version. Boehly won't sack Potter because he is the manager of his new project so we will endure this result until God knows when. That is the scary part

Because if you are seriously talking about sacking another manager a few months after the last one, we will look like an absolute joke of a club. Fans are so fickle they want to replace a manager after a couple of losses and with key players out injured. Potter can't do much about what he's inherited, along with injuries to key players. Right now id even take f**king Avram.

Today was also possibly the worst 90 mins i have ever seen us play. We let arsenal come and attack us for 90 minutes on our own ground. Embarassing. I mean I can understand the frustration with this club the past five seasons. I've been frustrated that we haven't competed domestically for five seasons. We won the league under Conte and did nothing afterwards. City wouldn't do that, they would strengthen and go again. Meanwhile we bought B/C level players and players that were second options, rather than our main options. There's so much that went wrong over the past decade. We have won the league just twice in the last 12 years. That isn't good enough.

November 6, 20223 yr We've been a poor team in the league since the title winning season under Conte, and even that came off the back of a shocking 2015/16 season. 2017/18 = 5th (70 points) - 30 points from 1st 2018/19 = 3rd (72 points) - 25 points from 2nd 2019/20 = 4th (66 points) - 33 points from 1st 2020/21 = 4th (67 points) - 19 points from 1st 2021/22 = 3rd (74 points) - 18 points from 2nd 2022/23 = 6th (61 points, if we sustain this run of form) Cup competitions through these years have disguised our ordinary form and kept our spirits up, but we haven't been a serious contender in the league for several years. This didn't happen overnight. Now we also have added the difficulty of Newcastle with Saudi investment and the other big 6 sides either being of a high standard already or the likes of Arsenal/United narrowing the gap on City/Liverpool. Our poor recruitment has caught up with us. People have been moaning about Havertz, Pulisic and others for years. This hasn't suddenly happened overnight. Heck, spending 100m on a dud like Lukaku is the epitome of poor business/recruitment. The problem we might have is that for the first time in a while, we might have made a misstep in appointing Potter and no one knows what the current owners are capable of which causes further anxiety among the fanbase. At least under Abramovich, there seemed to be a method to the madness even if the club sometimes felt chaotic along the way.

November 6, 20223 yr understand this, if potter in future reacts to problems on pitch after 15 mins with no improvement or obvious errors he made then ok..but to sit and watch your obvious game plan not working , your obvious player pick totally wrong and just keep watchingis totally unacceptable. if this happens again he must go. i dont care who you are managers that freeze are no good.
November 6, 20223 yr Unfortunately I think we need less pressure on us for a couple seasons to rebuild, a bit like Arsenal. We've been trying to challenge for the title with many average players. We never built around Hazard properly. We never replaced Costa with a top class striker. Our defence has been left to worsen over the last five and more years. We relied on Azpi, Alonso, Rudiger for too long. Never thought about what if Kante is out for a period of time and we need reinforcement for his position.

November 6, 20223 yr The Potter has ruined what Tuchel would have done activists are beginning to sound ridiculous. We were on a big slide under Tuchel, were playing awful football, many players simply going through the motion on match day and let's not forget that those pointing out the performances of Sterling, Cucurella and Koulibaly are not accepting they were Tuchel buys. Have we improved dramatically under Potter? No absolutely not. Our CL campaign has been saved but domestically we are once again struggling after a few decent results (but not necessarily decent performamces). However we are certainly no worse and regardless of who replaced him Tuchel was on a slippery slope that only had one outcome. What we do need is a rebuild and that's been the case for a while. Some of the money spent in the summer by Tuchel hasn't helped with that and we didn't push enough players out, albeit that can be difficult with the wages they are on. Of the current squad you could lose RLC, Jorginho, Ziyech, Aubameyang, Pulisic and Havertz without trying hard and without remotely losing anything of real quality. There are others like Koulibaly, Sterling and Mendy who you would think should be moved on but they will be more difficult to shift. Obviously we aren't going to move on that many players in one window but moving on the 6 in my first list would be a very successful outgoing window.
November 6, 20223 yr Sounds like Arsenal took pity on us. How to make Lukaku not look such a waste of money? Blow 3 times the amount on duds and management changes.
November 6, 20223 yr 7 minutes ago, Scott Harris said: You asked me this exact same thing last week, and I gave you a very detailed post explaining it all. So instead of me repeating myself, I'll just link you back to that post I read your post and forgot to reply. I really don’t buy in to the whole club sanction/Ukrainian war patter as a valid excuse. Chelsea were never going to go bust, it was inevitable that either a compromise would be struck with Roman or we’d have new owners. As a football manager, your job is to win football matches. The rest is chaff. If you’re so weak-minded that the thought of a new owner throws you, you shouldn’t be managing Chelsea. The personal stuff with his wife I accept is going to affect his ability. Allowing Tuchel to sign players only to fire him was a crazy decision from Boehly et al. that reeks of inexperience. Your point on “seeing how good [the football was] when it clicked”, I must be watching a different Chelsea to you. The football was turgid, sideways sh*te. And as for squad injuries, isn’t it just ironic that you’d (rightly) single out James and Chilwell as two huge losses contributing to our overall performance. Now Potter is in the same position with a heavily depleted squad yet you won’t extend the same courtesy.
