How badiash*te still gets games is beyond me, if you've got Josh on the bench, you play Josh, simple as that. This guy never has a good game.

By Badiashille standards, he had a decent first half, but I think that has more to do with how bad Villa were first 45. Said to my son, he has at least one (usually more) error in every game and so it was to be. Just had to be a sh*t Badiashille pass that got Villa back into a game they had no right to be in. The match turned on that one sh*t pass and if you asked before the game, who was most likely to make that pass, the answer was always going to be BADIASHILLE. Yet maresca plays him ahead of Acheampong who always looks decent. And Maresca also loves Gusto who he brings on only for said Gusto to then f**k up for the second Villa goal. You have to wonder if he is trying to get the sack with these kind of decisions?

The worst part about the gusto sub was we bought a LB for 40 mil in the summer .. crazy - the fact he is so sh*t we played gusto as LB ahead of him.. I keep coming back to how poor our recruitment has been.. these guys needed to be sacked and hounded out.

Similar sentiment, We had dinner at friends so save for the first 15 mins I was spared the rest of the game but ill quote my message in "Badiashille, FFS, a granteed gift a game"

He's not good enough, but its still la a symptom of the same thing, the first goal we conceded against newcastle came from a throw not that far from their box! with no plan, no urgency and no energy we end up on the edge of our own box and on that occation it was Wes (who is good enough)

They are out there half asleep some times and this comes from maresca. Also just honestly if you know Badisahille can't really pass the ball out and can get caught, take that issue away from him

I agree. We have some absolute dogs&*t players and when you mix that with Maresca's system, it leads to dogs%£t mistakes and dogs%#t recovery.

You cant be selecting players like Badiashile and expect mistake free, assured possession football from the back.

Like I say, if your going to pick them, you say defend hard and boot long when ever you have the ball. How bad does it have to get for Josh to get a game

but honestly i'm sick of overlapping full backs, slow pointless build up, possesion for the sake of possesion.

How does one who gets paid millions, have access to a worldwide net of scouting networks and connections to various academies, schools and clubs of all levels even get to blunder so hard as to look at Badiashile and thinks he's good at this level and thinks "this guy is a 90k a week player"?

Doesn't know how to defend. His body position is always wrong, always let's attackers get past too easily. Struggles to play out from the back. Is Hato really worse than this guy? If he can't get a game but Badiashile can he must be terrible, right?

He was fine to be honest. Some cricuial blocks on Haaland.

Im not going to blame him entirely for the goal, it was poor defending overall and to his credit he did get a block on the shot it just wasn't enough.

I am. He tried to be clever with the block instead of just clearing it. Could have avoided it entirely if he just smashes away the clearance instead of passing it straight to Reijnders.

It started with his misplaced pass to start with didn't it?

With Fofana ill and unavailable, it was down to this lad or Tosin. That's thanks to the SDs' refusal to find cover for the crippled Colwill. A glitch or two aside, he was fine. Managed Haaland as well as anyone has recently.

Good point, albeit the goal frame helped a bit LOL

Badiashile is also the only left sided centre back we have fit, so if you are a believe in round pegs in round holes, then he should be starting every game !

Amazing how different our season could have been if we had just signed Rogers / Semenyo and signed an experienced CB. Gittens and Garnacho was ludicrous, and another gamble with a striker like Delap f**ked us, we may as well have just kept Jackson.

They're not 16 years old and won't play for a bag of sweets.

We simply can't sign another CB. Even if you remove Colwil, Disasi, Anselmino, sarr. We still have 5 cb in squad. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Hato

I view him as the back up to Cucu at left back.

I know we did see him once at centre back, where he looked worse than Malang Sarr, let alone Badiashile LOL. Don't think he's played CB since ?

Don’t think he’s barely played since LOL

  • 3 weeks later...

getting a lot of stick for the mateta chance.. while i think he is a bozo and very error prone.. i do think that he had a good game yesterday and the chance wasnt on him.. it was Neto..who sold him for dead.. I think neto was terrible throughout the game and shouldnt have played in the second half.. but he layed the ball onto his weaker foot with mateta closing him down.. he could have hacked it too but you never know that could have also got blocked.. he tried to turn away but ran into the other palace player.. and neto had run off somewhere else.. Neto also missed a glorious opp. when caicedo pick pocketed their AW.. I think he handled himself really well - didnt give away silly fouls and headed the ball reasonaly well..

He is just way too casual...

To me he doesn't look casual, just panic-stricken. Which is how I feel every time I see him on the ball. I think he's the most error-prone CB I've seen in over 55 years of watching us.
