Good performance given opposition, conditions and travel.  He'll get some time now to recuperate.  I'm ready for him to kick on a gear and dominate from the middle.

Absolutely. I was surprised he lasted the full 90.

Thought both he and Caicedo did well despite both of them looking knackered in the 2nd half.

I think moving forward, this mid block tactical shift against top sides is going to work really well given the space they will leave. Need more bodies or better attacking impetus further forward however to capitalize on the lack of players we will have in the transition.

Gallagher did very well, but I think Nkunku would've crucified Arsenal last night.

Yeah definitely, it's clear that the Enzo-Caicedo-Gallagher trio is one of the most solid structures of this team, now all we need is a much better offense.

If we had Nkunku available I reckon there is no chance he took Conors place, but either Palmers or Mudryks.

Our defence is well on the way to becoming one of the best in the league, to go along with that midfield trio. Issue now is the front 3 need to deliver on a more regular basis.

Probably would've started over Mudryk.

It's getting to the point where Palmer genuinely needs to play for us to function well.

Fernandez showed amazing leadership qualities in the Cole/Sterling pen squabble, took great self belief, I think he’s a fabulous asset, nailed on next Argie captain if not ours….

We need to keep developing the trio of Caicedo, Enzo and Conor. They can be a truly top, top midfield trio for us.

Agreed I think Mudryk was the one Jackson would have replaced had he been fully fit, and Nkunku would have started over both.

I expect Nkunku, Sterling and Palmer become the first choice front trio.

One thing Enzo must improve on is his shooting. He cannot be as bad a finisher as he is showing.

He isn't, we can clearly see it throughout all his games with his national squad.

I'm baffled by this, he is an excellent footballer but tends to sky all his shots. He's probably the last person in the team I would associate with a lack of composure but amazingly his shooting is well off.

Should have a least 3 goals already this season IMO.

Yep. Scores for Argentina with shots not dissimilar to those he misses for us. Strange.

What's strange? You do realise at Chelsea it's illegal to be good at shooting yes? He's simply following protocol.

I think our problems and our successes this season lie in not having a goalscoring midfielder in our midfield.

Its never great when you are relying on 3 players up top to score the goals.

One of our midfield 3 has to step up with 5-10 goals a season and neither Enzo or Conor are delivering on this. When our front 3 struggle we have nothing other than set pieces.

I think if Gallagher has a long term future at Chelsea he has to start scoring. Harsh I know as he’s a good shout for our player of the year so far.

The benefits from our set up mean we have an excellent defence

We actually set up similar to Liverpool when they had Salah, Firmino and Mane but those three DID score the goals with a solid midfield behind them.

None of our attackers look like scoring anywhere near those numbers yet so need a help from the midfield.

He had a fair few near misses under Potter. His debut against Fulham and the last seconds against Liverpool off the top of my head he was whiskers away, and Dortmund away he forced an unbelievable save from Kobel.

It's a bit strange really,

years ago we had the likes of Lampard, Ballack, Cole, and Essien who you knew could ping a ball and score. We've not really had a midfielder like that for years besides Kante. Now our midfielders have the goal-scoring threat of John Obi Mikel.

Gallagher is the only one I'm confident in scoring from deep and offering a goal threat outside of the box. But I also heavily agree with your point about him, I'm one of Gallagher's biggest critics on here and he's been playing well recently but he's not been as clinical this season as we've seen in the past despite his good performances.

I want to say we missed him today, but not entirely sure as his recent form has been questionable.  Anyway congrats to a very happy day for his family, and hope all are healthy.  Hopefully the break helped him also as we need more contribution from him.

We didn't miss him, we have the same problems when he plays too.

Whats happened to him?
On fire to start the season v Liverpool but ever since he's been bang average. Doesn't score, doesn't assist and while they haven't really been that great themselves both Gallagher and Caicedo have outpeformed whats supposed to be our big start all season.
