I repeat…none of our signings are world class or proven…although weve paid those premiums. Were buying potential who have performed well…not spectacularly in sub standard leagues. Most will end up being loaned out and will end up making massive losses on them.

Ok.

To think I broke off my binge watch of Happy Valley for that!

Two weeks intensive coaching and zero improvement

Madueke and DDF both raw but gave best moments

Enzo was tidy but we don’t have a Messi

How Havertz did 90 ? He is no CF , generational talent my arse

Bright spots, good to see Reece and Ben back and Badiashile looks a player

Our attack needs serious coaching, not enough attempts on goal far too many players taking the easy option

That was actually fairly average for Potters Brighton.

Went 5 games without scoring 4 separate times in his tenure.

you have a disconcertingly comprehensive knowledge of what really went on at Brighton :laugh2:

There are no patterns or one twos that we play anymore.. everything is Hollywood now.

We have just bought 20 year old players.

Potter's track record is impressive so far in his career. Certainly he will given time to evolve with the players.

The contract is 5 years and not 5 months.

Not interested in a manager using us as some kind of internship and "evolve". That's fine at Brighton probably, not here.

Potter even said it himself yesterday, here we want to win. And he better start doing just that.

Positives tonight: Badiashile looks genuine quality. Silva, as usual. Enzo had a decent debut. Fofana had a good cameo. Sterling looked lively when he came on. But most of all James and Chilwell got minutes.

Negatives: Cucurella is bang average and so lightweight. Havertz should not be playing as a centre-forward ever. Mount needs some time on the bench. Gallagher's corners. Ziyech.

I'd accept it if this game is part of our project, honestly I could notice that we are lacking connection between the players, especially the new ones with the old ones.

We're not creative enough in the attack, my biggest disappointment is Mount. As an attacking midfielder he has to be our key player, especially from his spot on the pitch.

The result is not positive at all, but I had a feeling that I won't see an immediate effect...

West Ham is the next target, keep working, LET'S GO CHELS!!

Kepa - 7 - Made one very good save in the first half. Mostly untroubled.

James - 5 - First game in a while, needs a bit of time to get back to his best.

Silva - 8 - Excellent again, dominated the penalty area. Mitrovic was never a threat.

Badiashile - 7 - His excellent start with us continues

Cucurella - 3 - Rubbish, headless chicken trying to defend. He only knows one way and that is to charge out like an idiot. No chance of building any shape at the back with him ruining it.

Enzo - 7 - A very solid start, picked out a few excellent passes in the first half and is happy to play through the lines. Need a DM though so he can be more involved going forward.

Gallagher - 4 - Lots of running, no quality what so ever though.

Mount - 4 - Messed up some really good opportunities to create something.

Ziyech - 4 - Wasted everything. Lacks power and pace to be a difference maker. There is a reason why Fulham were happy to give us space on the right with him on the pitch.

Mudryk - 4 - Never in the game, Fulham suffocated the left hand side in the first half.

Havertz - 3 - Wasteful again. He should have had 2 goals.

Subs:

Madueke - 5 - A promising start, but faded badly once Potter moved him around. Lacked quality in the final 3rd.

Azpilicueta - 5 - Can't get forward and defend at the same time, so had to stay deep which hurt us going forward.

Sterling - 4 - Didn't offer enough when he came on

Fofana - 6 - I thought he should have scored with the chance he had, looked decent though.

Chilwell - 5 - Wasn't on long enough to make much difference.

Underwhelmed again, got exciting in the dying embers of the game but where was that effort in the prior 90 ? I really want to be patient with Bully's Project and GP but after 2 weeks off one would have expected a bit better of a showing out there today, especially with them beating us only a few weeks ago. Havertz up top is not a rewarding strategy and its sad that GP persists because Havertz has been the only one scoring of late - a sad reflection of how far this team has fallen lately, think we are going to just put up with this gone to the dogs style of football until some time next season when the penny drops with Bully and his extremely minted chums and they decide to give manager # 2 the customary Chelsea 'Tic-Tac'.

I'm a statistician and it's not like it's hard to find.

What's more disconcerting is how the media talked up a guy who's team scored 42 goals last year as being some incredible coach even when his own supporters were booing him.

Never got the Potter love in, I watched a lot of Brighton and just didn't get why he'd even be on a shortlist for a big club.  English manager effect in full force.

my summary

Glad to have James back.

glad to have chilly back

Kante in the middle is going to be a huge help to the team, Conor is way to raw and probably best suited coming off the bench with his energy

Badiashille. Our £35m man from Monaco, probably our best signing

Enzo was ok, I’ll give him a break as he has only been here 3 minutes

we f**king need a proper number 9. All that money spend and still f**k all up top.

Potter and goals do not go together, never have, never will and it sucks

In what way is Potter’s track record impressive?

I thought Madueke looked class, especially given that this was his first match.
