Reports out of Italy say our directors have approached Jose, but he won't make a decision on his future until the end of the season,  and that is why things have slowed right down with Pochettino.

I keep seeing the rhetoric thrown around on social media from rival fans and some few people here that no one would be interested in managing our club because of the mess we are in atm, usually citing people like Nagelsmann rejecting us etc. Personally, if a manager is turned off by our current state of the team then I don't want him anywhere near our club, because it means they were never 100% into the job in the first place and they just wanted to pad their CV by saying they managed Chelsea or get a fat payout from being sacked.

A manager that is willing to take on this mountain of a job is a manager that I respect and it shows that they are dedicated to getting us back to where we are despite everything going on. People always talk about players who play for the badge but right now we need a manager that is going to manage for the badge.

Nah, we still can attract top manager. We have tons good players and you will get tons of money.

But he will want to come in the summer not right now.

Seems to be the trend this time, court everyone, but not able to make up the mind or even have a finalized short list. Wouldn't be a surprise if Pochettino walks away soon.

Jose's third coming could be fun, he wouldn't put up with the kind of rubbish this season, and will call people out as he sees it. Sign a 5 year deal, walk away around 2 years 3 months, no real damage to him.

I think one need to realize that no manager (bar perhaps Jose and our legends) would take the job out of love for the club. Every manager thinks of their own career first and foremost and if they think they can do good work for Chelsea FC and in this way add to their managerial CV they will do it, if not they won't. A manager may of course grow to love the club after he's been in the job for a while and ironically enough Pochettino have been quite open about his love for Tottenham and have basically flirted with them in the hope of going back every since he was sacked.

So if we hire him we are essentially hiring a Tottenham lover. And I was going to say that I have no doubts he'd remain professional but he's said things like this when he managed PSG so that may bring that into question too.

‘Maybe it will never happen; when I was at PSG, I knew Tottenham would never want to sell Harry. And I never wanted to do anything that would affect Tottenham, because I love Tottenham.

Well everyone "loves" Tottenham in a way.

When you're on a caravan holiday in Skegness in May and it's pissing down with rain, the kids are screaming and the missus isn't talking to you. Who do you look to for a bit of comedy, some light relief, some hilarity even? Why good ole Tottenham of course.

Since Potter has gone most of our own players are so clueless they couldn't even put their shirts on the right way round. If it wasn't for the weekly Spursy sitcom slot on MOTD we'd all be topping ourselves.

Couldn't possibly disagree with that 🤣

Who actually would want this massive mess with interfering owners and players who some look like they rather watch paint dry than play for us!!

Living in Italy I can assure you that of the million football-related rumours that circulate daily, 99.9% of them prove to be B.S.

Does seem to be quiet, haven’t ready much at all about Pochettino. I did read that Pochettino was in LA with the board on Monday - but who knows if that is true.

He's representing himself. I'm assuming the delay are discussions regarding his terms. Did you know that Wenger had a clause in his contract where apparently the Kronke's can't enter the dressing room?

Think Pochettino wants to spread his hands a little more than what the club were initially offering him. Certainly puts the "He's a Yes Man" notion to bed. Not that I agreed with it in the first place.

Some reports coming out today from Italy, Pochettino wants to keep Lukaku and will present his project to him due course.

Personally my opinion is that its done, however as we have yet to actually confirm our status in the top flight next season Pochettino may be reluctant to commit 100%. Likely confirmation soon, but that's my opinion its partly held up by the uncertainty.

Being realistic, there should be at least a few teams below us by the end of the season, bt we've been so bad not getting relegated will actually be an accomplishment in my eyes because it means we should still attract big names.

Not to come across pessimistic or maybe overly optimistic depending on how you see it, but where we're at right now confirming our status and signing Pochettino is as good as it gets, and really based off the season we've just had that's actually something to be happy about provided it happens.

I think Pochettino and the club need to sit down, think long and hard about the detrimental affects Lukaku will have on the squad. Particularly one as young as this.

This could very well be me daydreaming, but I think the Pochettino deal has indeed been slowing down and Boehly is trying to cook up Mourinho.

To the idea that no top manager is touching Chelsea with a 10 foot pole, I don't agree per se we are still an attractive destination financially. The thing is Chelsea likes to go for the creme de la creme, and at this time all the top top notch managers are entangled elsewhere.

People like Pochettino or Enrique, no offense meant they have their strengths, but they're considering that a lackluster tint at Chelsea could further taint their already quasi-tainted CV's.

If someone like Carlo was free for example, this wouldn't be the case. Even if he'd come and get the sack in 6 months, his legacy wouldn't be affected.

But all that's just theorizing; back to talking about Jose. He will only accept the job if Roma doesn't give him the resources he needs, which seems increasingly likely. I don't think he has anything more to prove in Rome honestly, even if he doesn't lift the EL cup.

Now, someone told me a few days ago that Mourinho coming to Chelsea and seeing this group of players would give him an instant brain aneurysm. Which is true, we do not look like a Mourinho side at all. Thankfully, I think Boehly will accept that what is done is done, and be eager to support his new manager and get the checkbook out.

Our transfer policy is very straight forward I think. Sell all the deadwood- and Gods is there deadwood right now, raise some funds, and go all out on:  A true striker, a volatile midfielder, and possibly a CB.

For a striker I'd ideally want Osimhen, who Jose had time to check out in Italy. Maybe Napoli would be eager to swap him for Lukaku+cash.

Now in the center. RMA is probably getting Bellingham, which possibly means that one of Camavinga or Valverde will be up for sale. If that's the case, I'd love it if we pursued Camavinga. He'd fit right in.

Edit: Welp, Pochettino's in London. Scrap this

Not to mention how some fans and pundits will once again start blaming the rest of the squad for his inability to control a football (when he's not hiding from it that is).

You want Jose to manage a young squad, what could possibly go wrong. Fans seem to have forgotten his egg’s & omelette analogy the summer he was handed De Bruyne & Salah. Just a reminder;

"It's all about omelettes and eggs. No eggs, no omelette. And it depends on the quality of the eggs. In the supermarket, you have eggs class one, class two, class three. Some are more expensive than others and some give you better omelettes. So when the class one eggs are in Waitrose and you cannot go there, you have a problem."

Now ask yourself how many young talents he has developed in his long career. Like someone pointed out he will gone in under a year with another fat payout.

I remember a few months ago seeing a poll about who our next striker should be and Drogba was there and got a fair few votes.

At the time I assumed it was a joke but now given how many people seem to think reappointing Jose in 2023 is a good idea I genuinely wouldn't be shocked if some of those votes were unironic.

My understanding is that we have Frank until the end of the season.  Pochettino is still very likely.  We just have to wait until the summer.  Poor Frank.

Yes. Supposedly Vivell/Winstanley would like to see the new manager appointed right away, but Boehly wants to wait until end of season. I wonder if Frank was almost hoping to be relieved of his duties at this point.

There is a good argument both for and against Pochettino taking over right away or at the end of the season.

I do like the ide and him having these 4 weeks to figure out who he wants to keep, judge attitudes and see what he needs.

However a more important point is, if they people long involved in football are in agreement and advising you to do one thing, and you do another when you know f all about the game, then you really are arrogant and stupid.
