But lets say we get knocked out of both cups and slip further away from European spots in the league, would a change of manager of that point for the last 10 or so league games really change much? I doubt it. For that reason they may as well just let Poch complete the season either way, unless of course they identify a new manager that is immediately available. We beat Fulham at the weekend we could find ourselves 7th come weekends end. Beat Boro and make it to the final, then beat Villa in the FA Cup a couple days later. We are still in a relatively decent spot, but the question is can we do it? Edited January 11, 20242 yr by Sconnie Blue
January 11, 20242 yr When Poch reaches a level where the kw ers deem he needs needs be sacked, Winstanley and Stewart need to be sacked as well.

Love the optimism mine is getting slowly sucked out of me. I still believe we can come good and these ups and downs are typical of a young side.

The point I'm making is that yes our players are either good, or have the potential to be good, but we have not built a balanced squad. We lack experience, we lack height, we have a surplus in some positions and a shocking lack of depth in others. Every other side we play has built (or is building) a squad, we've signed a lot of players without thinking about the squad as a whole. I don't think we are a short team but aerially we are so bad 😭😭 I saw jota beating Saliba in the air yet jota is shorter than Madueke n Palmer. Edited January 11, 20242 yr by Bob stark

Palmer is actually listed at 189cm which is pretty tall ! Much taller than Madueke (182). Jota is even shorter at 178 LOL (same height as Enzo and Caicedo)

Some of the wallys on here would tell you we were in a Crisis under Tuchel coming 3rd and getting to almost every cup final. Any big club is always 2 or 3 games from being in a crisis that's the nature of the sport now. Poch was undoubtedly dealt a horrible hand by the owners he's been given the least talented Chelsea squad in decades with the further problem of the fact these untalented players are inexperienced as well. He's working with absolutely nothing like what you'd expect the squad to look like given the investment. Has he made a few puzzling decisions? Sure but none are remotely as puzzling as going into the season with Jackson and Broja as the only strikers, signing a Ukranian refugee for big money solely because he's fast and spending over £250m on goal shy central midfielders while we don't actually have a proper striker then buying 17 South American kids without actually signing a quality keeper or having any squad depth. Whatever Disasi is supposed to be. £45m? Wow. The squad has been built horribly and that isn't on Poch. Midtable and a good cup run isn't underachieving for the talent in the squad. Yet another long, boring post listing past history and current problems, without you having the courage to offer one single suggestion, opinion, thought, comment on what we should be doing differently, who we should be buying, to correct things. You grip my my sh*t more than anyone who has ever posted on here. Brother if you were in the Army you would get the holy sh*t kicked out of you. You only turn up when things are bad and disappear when we have a good result. Don't just bring us problems fella, offer us your solutions. What should we be doing differently. If Poch is sh*t, who should come in? If all our young "talentless" players are sh*t, who should we buy (please put your list up again, it was laugh out loud brilliant)? If Todd and Clearlake f**k off, who do you want to take over? Show some balls. Give a f**kin opinion on solutions mate. I wouldn't care if you said Welbeck and Vlahovic up front. At least you would be making a stand.
January 11, 20242 yr Poch is doing the right things. He is working with young immature players and significant injuries to key players. As a team we are creating chances, we are just NOT scoring. Possession dominance squandered by consistently — and, at times, utterly inexplicable — poor decisions and execution in the final third. According to Opta, Chelsea have created 57 big chances this term and have missed 36 of those. We are top of the table in the big chances missed charts. The stats do indicate we do in fact create chances, although it often doesn’t feel that way. To us, the problem is very obvious. The thing with a bunch of brilliant excitable children football players is that if you want them to have greater composure up-front you need a least one experienced creative/attacking professional player to instill that in them, in real time, on the pitch, as it is happening, as the game is unfolding. Sterling has never been that player, he has always been over excitable nervous energy. Nkunku could be that player, we are yet to see his influence over a bunch of consecutive games. At present we do not have that player and we only need ONE player like that. Confidence installed, the kids could/would come good.

I think it's obviously the same fella who's been on the forum for a while but using different accounts, he always argues in the same manner with a similar name format. But the bloke is definitely a wind up merchant, has to be, or he's got the worst case of ADHD I've ever seen.

January 11, 20242 yr Players turning on Poch? Apparently several players havr expressed their concerns at Pochettino not being up to it tactically and not using some players correctly. 3 in particular (said to be Enzo, Colwill and Caicedo) are said to have told the higher ups Poch is not using them to their strengths and harming the team because of it.
