We’ve had our trousers pulled all the way down by them all window. Only saving grace is Colwill giving them the finger. Sanchez was their first choice keeper who fell out of favour with De Zerbi, that's why he ended up as the third choice GK at the tail end of last season. We'll see anyway.

I think Caicedo will happen, Romano did say about a couple of weeks ago that we should keep an eye out for Kudus as him signing for Brighton may be related to the Caicedo deal.
August 5, 20232 yr So kudas will go to brighton for 39mil, then in a years time, we will probably hit brighton up about signing him and be quoted 80 mil. We actually really need a player like kudas right now to compete with maduake on the right side so if we let the kudas opportunity pass us by then we better be very certain of signing olise, because we really need one of them.

I'm sure he's licking his lips at the prospect of playing alongside Danny Welbeck. They got 55mill for Mac Allister and 25mill for Sanchez. We sure that is Caicedo money they are spending.

Sterling will be impossible to shift with his wages though, so he’s not going anywhere for now. With no European football, there is only so much bulk we can manage, not to mention Pochettino himself stating he wants to make the squad smaller.

Sterling would seem like an absolutely great shout for a saudi move once he realises how downhill his performances have gone, but id suspect he currently hasnt accepted that hes on a downward spiral.
August 6, 20232 yr I will be so pissed if we let Kudus go to Brighton only for us to go for him in the next two years for 200m. He is the type of player we need in the team, versatile, strong and with the heart of a lion. We have done fairly well moving out a lot of dead wood and we still have Lukaku and Ziyech to be moved. But we can still sell Gallagher to Westham and use that money to buy Kudus who can play as an AM or RWF.... Even a false 9 in a pinch and his as hardworking and Gallagher is.
August 6, 20232 yr Think Kudus will be an excellent player for Brighton, and one we should have signed ourselves.

I think Pochettino has intimated that he wants a bit of PL experience in and around the group as well. I am not surprised our latest signings and links are Sanchez, Caicedo, Olise and Adams. Vlahovic I still think is a vehicle to get rid of Lukaku so is a separate issue.

Having witnessed what happens when a lot of bad attitudes are brought together like last season, am as concerned about the right personality fits as I am anything else.

August 6, 20232 yr Maybe instead of us letting Brighton take one of our targets we where messing around with theirs in an attempt to get them to sell Caicedo? Maybe we where never interested.

August 6, 20232 yr It’s a strange quirk of the footballing world that a player from four times European Champions A**x sees Brighton as an upgrade to his career.
August 6, 20232 yr He hasn't agreed personal terms with Brighton, which means he may still agree to come to Chelsea. Brighton has gone ahead to agree a fee with A**x, but I think the player may prefer to go to maybe Chelsea or Arsenal. Apparently, Brighton had agreed a fee with A**x since July as reported by Romano and they couldn't agree personal terms with Kudus since July, meaning he may still go to Chelsea or Arsenal. So the deal is not over. Edited August 6, 20232 yr by hephzibah

He looks decent but worth reminding yourself of some of the other players that shone for A**x and were targeted by Premier league. Our own Ziyech being a prime example.
August 8, 20232 yr With nkuku injured I say with kudus. Nkuku was crucial with rotation because he can play any of the front four positions , so can kudos.

Let's say the shoe was on the other foot and Real Madrid came in for our best player and they did not meet our valuation. We would be praising the club for standing firm and be demanding they would meet the price tag we gave him. This sense of superioty fans have when they say this is silly, he signed a new contract 6 months ago! There's a good chance we meet their valuation as well and everyone will be praising him for standing firm.

August 9, 20232 yr So apparantly kudas is in disagreement with brighton over a release clause, as in he insists on one but brighton dont want to allow it 😄. This is the bed brighton have made for themselves over their caicedo stance and its already haunting them.
