Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*

It's a lose/lose scenario for him in my opinion.

Either he continues to manage poorly and we fail to get Champions League, thus gets sacked.

Or he does great things and manages to cross this team over the finish line to qualify for Champions League, where then the co-sporting directors will circle jerk thinking their policy is working

This is the circle I am trying to square at the moment. Laurel and Hardy will think that their plans are working.

Strange how when the manager looks like he doesn't know what he's doing the team play like they don't know what they're doing. Now he starts saying dumb things to make excuses. Not a good sign for his future. Maybe top 4 is not the goal this season, but you never say that to the press. With so many problems at the club it's hard to put too much energy in hating on Maresca at the moment. Don't think he'll be around come August.

Why won't you say it if it is so? I don't get it. We need some doses of reality. He only tries to get the fans behind the team. Our only job is to cheer for the team and the young players. Not judge and compare these guys to Cech, Lampard and Drogba. That is all.

I don't think it will solve anything as there are bigger issues (poorly assembled squad, SD's, owners etc.) but I think Maresca will have to go. It looks as though the players have downed tools and there is no coming back from that.

Inept.. wingers most hate to play his system.. fullbacks aren’t allowed to overlap so everytime they are up against 2-3 .. he wants runners in the box .. but those runners are Enzo and CC .. both are slow and not goal scorers.. but wait we just sold Gallagher he could have done that..

On the other side leaves our average defenders 1-v-1 with attackers .. just one simple ball up top and they are in.. no team can play like this.. he is Ange in disguise .. who ever scouted him that is our great directors amazing job done - just the guy for the job.. so sad and frustrating that this clear lake administration has ruined our great club.. ran it like a startup with no responsibility towards the fan..

wtf

I actually agree, he's objectively a better striker than Nkunku watching them both play, not just in terms of goal scoring but work rate and physicality as well.

Maresca not good enough, but neither is this project. Everything about it is a massive failure.

We will always be a midtable club under this ownership. They employ managers of that tier. We pay wages in that tier too.

Better just get used to it. The target is not to be relegated. They are not building a squad to win now. Look at the profile of players teams like Villa, Forest, and Newcastle bring in, it is a mix of potential and senior players.

We won't grow as a team, the best players will leave before that ever happens.

Now with that sponsorship ruling, other teams with actual ambition will pay the wages of the best players.

Its curtains for us now. I'm fully prepared to go a couple of decades with silverware. This is what they have turned us into.

Looking forward to Maresca's excuse for the next two months of bad form and him putting it down to Jackson being out......like December and January didn't happen when Jackson was fit.

Called it.

The guy is so predictable. Absolute bullsh*t artist.

Bet he's looking forward to giving his post match interview.

Don't know why he bothers, he's so full of cliches and bullsh*t anyway.

I think I’ve been fairly constant in my support of all our managers even during the most difficult of times. I’ve never felt that we should make decisions too early, particularly during a season and in some respects that we have made our bed so we should lie in it.

Honestly, I can’t make a case for it this time. I’m absolutely gutted at what I’m watching. We look lost, soulless, without an effective game plan or strategy. The players who I don’t believe are as bad as possibly they are made out to be have lost all confidence in themselves and each other.

It might only be a game but I’m choked, genuinely worried.

I hate to say it but I wouldn’t be sad to see him go.

Could have said this for potter and poch too to be honest.. we are slinking without a trace.

Honestly can’t believe the January transfer window.

We could have had Felix, Chukwuemeka to bring off the bench tonight, or maybe we’d have done better if we signed a striker.

It really feels like we are free falling.

Disagree on Poch. He clearly had the belief of the players. Just a shame the owners wouldn't agree to work with him over players like Conor.

Felix? Come on now 😅 Chukwuemeka.. yes, Santos even, yes (although totally understandable why he wasn’t recalled with relations tense there).

It was madness with all our supposed scouting power and “DaTa” at hand, there wasn’t one striker in world football we could have acquired out there.

Sacking Maresca doesn’t solve the issue. We’ve got to get rid of the SDs and owners. Their policy is what’s driving the club’s performances. What do you expect from such a sh*t group of players? No attacking quality other than Palmer, no midfield with defensive capacity nor a goal scoring or creative midfielder, a defensive line as bland as it gets, and no quality goalkeeper. We are where we are independently of the coach. There’s no winning mentality above so we can’t expect it from the team.

100% agree.

The owners won't go anywhere until they get their money back and doubled, so likely we will get another manager with similar traits, or just stay the same and save some money,  Like Maresca, there are positives in losing,
