If Mudryk gets the nod over Jackson, only Palmer of your front seven is taller than 178cm. I guess we won't be scoring too many headers LOL.

Lack of height up front is not the end of the world. It just make your option limited, you can see this days teams are getting better and better at pressing. You want to give option for your player to just hoof it. 

 

 

I'm struggling with the inclusion of KDH anywhere near the first team, if he's happy to be a super squad player and just tie up his laces in Cobham everyday and Stamford bridge on match days i fully support that, but he aint a player who will get you up the division nor should be starting - I see him more as a guy who will help the players transition to yet more new tactics from another coach.

Palmer at wing-back? I didn't realise Graham Potter was back!

I have no issue with Dewsbury-Hall as a player, he's decent enough. My concern is that we're paying serious money for squad players (again) when we have Cobham players who can fill those roles (arguably better), and the money could be better spent filling the holes in the starting XI.

Finance wise it is better to sell academy player than use them as squad player.

Think I would rather have James inverting than Cucu and have Colwil LB forming the 3rd CB.

Not always

Take Alfie Gilchrist, who has just signed his first professional contract. Even if we generously assume he is on a wage of 10k a week, his amortised cost is 520k/season. He would be impossible to replace like-for-like at that cost.

Say he was sold - again, generously - for 20m, we would need to buy a player on a 5-year contract who:

• costs <10m and earns less than 40k a week in wages
• or comes in on a free and earns less than 80k/week in wages
• has a comparable level of ability

What are the actual chances of that? It's just not realistic, and that's not even including things like sign-on and agent fees, or whether the club want to retain some of that profit to offset against other costs.

I know that "pure profit" gets bandied around by the media of late, but it's largely the media parroting Kieran Maguire's assumptions without ever really testing them.

If its Colwill at LB with the intention of forming a back 3 in build up no one would have an issue, the biggest issue was Poch expecting him to be a marauding full back for the majority of his games there last year lol

The width of the LB certainly looks like a back 4 to me, one full back is clearly much more comfortable going forward in their natural position while our CB out of position was doing his best as to what was asked of him by the manager out of position 

Well he's officially been here a week now and absolutely zero sign of him so far LOL.

Nothing at all from the PR and social media guys, which is very unusual given how forthcoming they've been about just about everything up to now ...

RDZ train his player similar to how conte/sarri train their player. Plenty of 11 v 0 training
