Anyone who's happy about this should give their head a wobble.

No serious coach can work with the frauds above them.

You're absolutely right. But we have a window of a few hours to dream.

They're a big problem but a good manager still needs to work with the players he has, just just the players he wants.

He's playing entirely the wrong kind of football for skilled but inexperienced kids with dubious mental fortitude.

No elite manager will work with these bafoons !!

To be honest I thought Man City played a blinder by pretending Enzo is wanted to be Peps successor. Thought our City loving board would fall for that hook line and sinker and back to keep him. However looks like Enzo quit rather than sacked.

That would be two managers who have left because of them upstairs. Probably be others but I hope the football is better to watch.

Brilliant start to the new year, worst manager weve had in my lifetime, just dreadful football in every way, ruining young players we have.

Worse than Potter?

I thought I'd get more satisfication seeing Maresca leave, but now I feel more concerned than ever.

Clearlake and the sporting directors were the ones who pushed to bring Maresca to the club in the first place, after they had relied on "analytics" to determine that Pochettino had failed in his first and only season. Boehly for all his naivety was never on board and would have preferred to stick with Poch at the time.

What a total cock up, and there's every chance Rosenior will be the replacement.

Agreed.

Just hope they take their time about appointing a successor. I would just like a day or two of contemplating a possible Nagelsmann, Glasner, Xavi, Alonso, before the inevitable anti climax of Rosenior and more of the same sh*te

Honestly just 6 months of playing entertaining football before it all collapses again will be worth it. Just hope they can pick someone who can give us that at least.

"Their transfer policy - signing the world's best young players from 'lesser' leagues to create the youngest team in the Premier League - remains in place.

Maresca knew what he was signing up for - and his issues are not about the quality of players or the strategy, but about the perception of his work with a young group.

The Italian is encouraged to rotate his squad, but often feels that when he does so in the Premier League, they drop points. "

Chelsea Football Club and Head Coach Enzo Maresca have parted company.

During his time at the Club, Enzo led the team to success in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Those achievements will remain an important part of the Club’s recent history, and we thank him for his contributions to the Club.

With key objectives still to play for across four competitions including qualification for Champions League football, Enzo and the Club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track.

We wish Enzo well for the future.

Who says we should chase an elite manager? We'd end up with another manager trying a playstyle that doesn't reflect the players we have. Plenty of "elite" managers only became so after joining a bigger club.

At the moment we would do better with a competent manager who is used to working with kids and knows how to properly rotate them in a packed schedule without constantly putting players together who've barely played with each other.

Well he has gone.

Didnt want him in the 1st place, he actually did much better than i was expecting but i really did not like the football we played in most games.

He was only part of the problem.

Sporting Directors have a really poor hit rate with players, the coach picks havent been much better, and when Rosenior is in the frame for acheiving a 7th place finish in france, we could potentially end up worse off after Maresca.

Glasner would probably be my pick, or Nagelsmann, but i think thats unlikely.

I gave my head a wobble and I'm still happy he's gone. He's on a primary school PE teacher level at times. Having said that, the main reason we're in this mess in the first place are indeed the owners, who have ripped the heart out of our club. So: to be continued with the next awful chapter.
