Well he has gone.

Didnt want him in the 1st place, he actually did much better than i was expecting but i really did not like the football we played in most games.

He was only part of the problem.

Sporting Directors have a really poor hit rate with players, the coach picks havent been much better, and when Rosenior is in the frame for acheiving a 7th place finish in france, we could potentially end up worse off after Maresca.

Glasner would probably be my pick, or Nagelsmann, but i think thats unlikely.

Naglesmann is a shout

Fine by me, don’t rate him and I really do not like his approach to the game.

But there’s no point kidding ourselves that this will herald a great change. This loons will appoint another inexpensive coach that they assess will be too glad of the opportunity to have a problem with sacrificing success for keeping young players values up.

The best we can hope for is that whoever is next might go about this rotation stuff with a more attacking/entertaining style.

Starting to sound like Rosenior is most likely. Seventh in Ligue 1 and no wins in his last four.

But we are f**ked with these owners. And they’ve said they are NOT changing this model. Depressing stuff.

Bewildered that some people don’t think we’d be able to draw in a top class coach.

Reece James, Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer, Estevao. The chance to work with and build around players of that quality is an opportunity most aren’t afforded at any stage of their career.

Now if I’m Pedro Neto, Malo Gusto or Enzo Fernandez I’m probably looking who’s interested in me this January ‘cos any self respecting coach coming in is going to seriously eat into their minutes.

Who says we should chase an elite manager? We'd end up with another manager trying a playstyle that doesn't reflect the players we have. Plenty of "elite" managers only became so after joining a bigger club.

At the moment we would do better with a competent manager who is used to working with kids and knows how to properly rotate them in a packed schedule without constantly putting players together who've barely played with each other.

Okay let’s take it down a notch then. No competent manager will work with these 🤡 and if they do they are using CHELSEA as a stepping stone. Just let that sink in!!

During his time at the Club, Enzo led the team to success in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Those achievements will remain an important part of the Club’s recent history, and we thank him for his contributions to the Club.

The word 'recent' doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

I stand by what I said previously, that Maresca was a poor fit but that things could (and probably will) be a whole lot worse. All the best Enzo, and thanks for the (tin)pots.

Only if he's allowed to !

If you do what the owners ask and line up to accommodate Fernandez, then it is inevitable that you'll lose your job. Nowhere on the pitch you can hide him without hurting the team in some capacity, and then the results won't meet the expectations of the owner !

If thats the case. Why are we hiring yes man Rosenior on a long term contract?

Lots of managers looking to step up who'll also enjoy the challenge of wet clay that our squad presents.

If he's successful it means we're doing well in Europe plus he'd be on huge money in the Premier League. Not many steps up that would be worth the risk of leaving that.

I don’t believe this forced to rotate nonsense. If that was the case surely Gittens, Hato and Josh would’ve started games. If playing them to increase value was a thing Estevao would have started most games. Enzo was the one who turned out of this world Palmer into a subdued version of himself. And no f**ker but Enzo was picking right backs in midfield. All this was on Maresca in my opinion.

Now that’s not saying the owners and SDs are blameless but the best we played was when he added a bit of structure to Pochs wild but attacking team he then slowly turn Pochs team into a toothless bore fest.

Have no faith in them to hire a top manager at all, will be absolutely fuming if it’s Rosenior but it probably will be, they just want a yes man that will put up and shut up.

If Maresca wants to go, there's no benefit trying to persuade him to stay.

Once you've emotionally checked out, it's best to rip the bandaid off quickly.

If Maresca wants out, then he needs to officially resign. No massive payout for the remainder of his contract. If he wants no further part of the mess he is trying to pretend he has no responsibility for, then he should quit. I don't want to see him sulking for a year like Conte did, f**k off now before even more damage is done.

As for the owners, they will have to accept yet another negative mark against their tenure at the club. This should be an eye opener that the two sporting directors and Joe Shields should have no further say on how the club is run, but I suspect nothing will be changing there.

Everyone knows they will appoint Rosenier. They have no ambition. They care only for profits. The slim hope that they sell after the 10 years is a pipe dream too. They overvalue themselves so much they can’t even agree a shirt sponser for 2 years, they are going to expect 4x what the club is worth to sell. We are in at least a 20 year Arsenal state now with no end in sight.

Time to go out on a limb here. It doesn't matter cos there is absolutely no chance of this happening.

I agree that there are a number of mediocre players here and some of our best players are the most fragile, fitness wise. However, we have seen Di Matteo pick up something that was broken and won the CL. We have seen TT do the same. The overall sum can be greater than the individual parts.

I am a firm believer that this squad is just not fit enough, are not disciplined and honest enough, and I believe that stems from the management. The manager has just served his second touchline ban in half a season.

I personally would not be averse to Xavi right now. I think a more disciplined and structured approach, using the players in their best positions, in a fitter regime, could still see us have a successful season.

But we'll get Rosenior, who within a month will have Sanchez playing as a sweeper and getting pelters for it.
