Samuel Omorodion

Featured Replies

We needed a player that's 24/25 and on the up, someone who's just a notch below the tier of players that's been mentioned and won't just automatically drop Jackson to the bench.

I know he was bought for alot of money but we should have tested the waters for someone like Cunha.

Christ this where we are at.

Solanke has 1 decent in top flight football.

Feels like we are mulling over Darren Bent, Lua Lua, and Andy Carroll.

This summer has been the worst recruitment since Enrique De Lucas. Mid table type signings, that the likes of Everton or Villa would gamble on.

Hopefully history repeats itself and we scrape top 4.

Welcome Omorodion, I'm sure there wasn't a single Chelsea fan that wanted him at the end of the season, but hopefully we have struck gold.

Strange times at the club. Only thing worse than having no money, is having lots of money and wasting it all.

If I could choose anyone it would be Watkins. He’d fit well I reckon

Yep, good mates with Cole Palmer.  They have an understanding on the pitch.  Ollie Watkins. 28. Strong. Fast. Likes to score goals. Could we make that happen?

Le Ponytail Emmanuel Petit just described Mr.Watkins as the perfect signing . . . .for Arsenal.  I think Chelsea need him more, but does Ollie need us?

Yes, you're right, that is what I meant. Typing and posting too fast.

Considering he has never played for Atletico because he went straight on loan to Alaves I'd suggest you were watching a different player mate.

Jackson / Guiu / Nkunku

Osimhen isn't a £100m upgrade and Samu isn't an upgrade at all.

I agree with most of you and it's baffling atm, which is why I would personally just stick with Jackson and guiu until someone better comes along. Or...I would take osimhen (I liked his "showreel" but fk knows how he will do in the PL) but at a way reduced price if they could and reduced wages (hes not worth those stupid numbers), because if Jackson or guiu are injured, we're fkd.

I just can't see the "potential" or whatever it is they see in omorodion, he's the worst option out there for us.

Watkins is a good shout but he won't leave CL football for us and guiu has a similar playing style.

I've never been a fan of toney but he may be our only realistic option. I can't recall how much he costs but anything stupid then pass on him too!

I literally can't think of anyone as backup to Jackson and someone that can mentor guiu too. What happened to all the strikers!?

Over a billion spent and two years later we still haven't got a proper number 9 or number 1 goalkeeper with the clowns in charge. Why do you guys still keep talking about those positions like we're gonna get someone quality in for those positions? Accept the reality...just not gonna happen unfortunately!

The football tactico losers made it unfashionable to want an focal point number 9. False 9's and small strikers dropping deep became fashionable for too long. I think we're slowly returning to the light side with big sh*t house strikers coming back into the top end of the game. Hojlund, Jackson, Haaland, Fullkrug, Toney, Watkins, Isak.

The world is healing, just need a few more to start coming through academies. Who knows, maybe they might have seen something in Samu that no other team on the planet has seen, let's see.

Doesn't matter if we sign a goal machine playing up top while our defence is gifting goals away every 5 minutes at the other end

This.

I personally think we have enough creativity in attack to challenge for top 4 spot but while we’re defending like a relegation team it’s almost pointless worrying about strikers.

The way I see it, we are at a stage where we literally have to outscore our own defensive mistakes to have any chances of winning football matches.

This is our biggest problem IMO.

Couldn't care less about a name, i'm massively against the Osimhen signing too.

My issue is the profile and lack of ability. £35m for a player that no other team would pay more than about £15m for. We need experience and ability up top, not a teenage Lukaku without the finishing.

Show me a chronically online fan that's made a video of him looking good pls.

But this is my point, you don't know how much he's worth, none of us do because we don't watch him play. I'm not gonna rely on a 3 minute clip to decide whether this is a good purchase or not, I'm gonna wait to see what he does on the pitch for Chelsea.

I'd argue the fact that no other team was in for him and he was second choice to Jhon Duran tells us much of what we need to know.

Only metric he's in the upper percentile of is xG and he still managed to underperform on his actual goals.

You can argue that a player is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for them but absolutely no one was willing to pay what we did, we've massively overpaid once again.

And a goal machine wouldn't help with this how?

My point is that we need to sort the defence out urgently because scoring 5 goals to beat Celtic and Man City is not something we can do and we shouldn't have to TBH.

Most of those pre-season goals we conceded were poor and a lot of those was our own doing.

If we can learn to defend properly then top 4 is achievable, ignoring the defensive problems is going to lead to the same issues of teams hitting us on the break and getting points of of us.

I’d be surprised if Samu is coming here as our first choice striker. That’d be putting too much pressure on the lad. I’m thinking we’re still in the market for a proven centre forward with him being brought here as back up.

I know and agree.  My point being no team can say no to a monster goal scorer they can literally win league titles or save teams from relegation.  While I don't think we have the best of defenders, I think the biggest problem at the moment is adapting to Marescas tactics.   I recall the early days of Pep at Man City being full of defensive issues to the point Pep was constant having to address it with the media.

A little off the subject being Omorodion will mostly likely not be a 'Monster goalscorer'.

We would all like a monster goalscorer.

But unless he's 16 and belting in goals in a South American league somewhere, we're not buying one.

Just flicked over to the Olympic final.  Where’s Samu?!

Aye was wondering that. Is he injured? Suspended? Or just deemed not worth picking?

He is crap that is what it is. Only started the dead rubber game, and been coming on with 3 mins left in the game.

What happens with Jackson then? He needs a solid 2yr loan playing constantly in a mid -bottom of the table team before he is ready. Now unless he hits the ground running and scores constantly no team is going to develop a CF for another team especially with survival at stake.
