From someone on reddit who saw him play....

Maybe this is the assessment the SDs read before deciding he's worth the money.

The cycle we go through these days -

Step 1. Rumours link us to unknown sh*t players.

Step 2. We express our frustration and disappointment with said rumours and hope they're untrue.

Step 3. Rumours surface of outrageous price tags of the said unknown sh*t players.

Step 4. We express more frustration and disappointment with said rumours and hope they're untrue.

Step 5. They majority are untrue, utter bo**ocks, people then get upset because we didnt sign the player.

Are we not running into the same problem we had under Potter here? 40+ first team players at Cobham I mean.

Our squad is absolutely huge already and we keep adding and the season starts in two weeks. So no idea what the plan is here. Always a worry when a player doesn't even look good on Youtube and that seems to be the case here so who the hell knows what we are doing.

I think there will be a big push once we are back from the states, with any stragglers given the Gallagher treatment. Season starts in two weeks but window is still open a bit after.

Looks like this will get done now. I've seen some brutal all touch compilations today.

His touch is very similar to Lukaku at the same age, what's that old saying, 2nd touch is a tackle!

Wonder why City don't want him to be Haalands back up, since we got diet pepsi in charge?

I'm annoyed they are thinking of Osimhen and they want to bring this guy in too!

Enough already...we already have too many players in midfield and in goal. sh*t defence and tbh the forward section is the only one that makes sense -ish. Lots of ifs and buts but it isn't as fkd as our defence and gk situation at least. Enough young, inexperienced players pls and just develop the ones we already have!

They're not. They just need the Osimhen pot to keep bubbling so that PSG go for him. They just want to get Lukaku moved in this accounting period.

It's about profit and loss. In just about every case you'll find the net result of the "exchange" is profit for both sides. Creative accounting -v- FFP.

Spot on. Its why Winstanley and Stewart should never be referred to as Sporting Directors.  There is no sporting endeavour in this club. The sport of football is incidental and any tangible form of on pitch success can be a happy corollary for their player trading. Trading Directors not fking Sporting directors!

It's purely a money laundering transaction in order to help meet PSR for this year whilst amortising the purchase.  If there were any Sporting ambition involved we wouldn't be doing this. This guy would not be an upgrade on Adebayo from Luton, Awomniyi from Forest, couldn't get near Mateta of Palace. In fact there is no evidence this guy is any better than DD Fofana.

Nothing to do with football,  nothing to do with Chelsea.

Only the D&D knows why we going for this profile.. doesn’t instil any confidence.. at this point it looks like both the directors want to sign their individual targets and play an 11v11.. for all you know one of them signed Guiu and now the other wants to sign Sami to trump him..

Don't care, Osimhen and Samu aren't upgrades on Jackson:

Jackson > Osimhen > Samu.

There's even a massive gap which includes several players between osimhen and samu!

That samu guy is really mehhh....

And osimhen isn't worth his price tag compared to Jackson.

This Samu guy will make Batshuayi look elite.

If he ain't "special" in Italy the chances are he won't even make the bench in the PL.

In the first vid, you can see Osimhen as decent and if his price was lower/similar to Jackson then fair enough. But his price ain't worth having someone that is very similar in the way Jackson plays and of similar quality.

The samu guy is nowhere near those 2 and it's not as if those 2 are Messi or Ronaldo either...so that's saying a lot about samu.

So we are basically swapping Connor G for Omorodion.  Not known a swap this poor since, as a 9 year old I exchanged my ticket for TisWas to one for Jim'll Fix It

Please no...Omorodion is getting worse with every vid I watch. We need our sd's to send whatever rubbish they got about this guy to get fact checked!

I wrote to jim'll fix it too when I was a kid. I guess I wasn't his type, thank fk.

Still got a few weeks ago, would not surprise me at all if we sign another 3-4 players, maybe another 120M Midfielder.

I know almost nothing about the Omorodion guy, judging by the record he's about the same level as Jackson when he was signed. If the target is top 4, we are short in terms of fire power up front.

Buying this guy will annoy me more than selling Gallagher for some reason...

He'll be a waste of money and will spend most of his time on loan except...We aren't city grp with 13 or whatever other clubs under our thumb, we only have strasbourg and a limit on loans. I can't even see potential. We need those places for the kids that will make it at Chels.

I have no idea why I'm getting this angry over this guy...lol

I think people are being a bit too harsh on Omorodion. I watched a lot of La Liga last season. He is strong, tall and fast, and a decently intelligent player. He genuinely has the raw tools to be one of the best strikers in the world. He has not scored a lot of goals to date but he has not had the luxury of playing for a team catered to him. He had a great record at youth level but that is tempered by the fact he is so physically dominant.

The biggest issue for me is that he is a throwback to yesteryear. He is very, very much an old-school target man forward of the type that used to dominate Serie A in the 1990s and early 2000s. I'm talking Vieri, Crespo, Trezeguet, Luca Toni et al, the one-man counter-attacking force of nature who also turned any cross into a goalscoring opportunity.

25 years ago he would have been the hottest striker prospect in the world, but football has since moved in a different direction and Maresca's apparent focus on possession may make for a bad fit so early in his career. Jackson and Guiu by contrast are willing runners into the channels and are not completely useless when dropping deep or out wide.

There will be a lot of pressure on Omorodion to develop his game to suit modern football.

Deals agreed now Atletico have the agreement for Alvarez.

They pay us 38mill for Conor, we give the 38mill right back for Samu.

Just medicals and contracts to sign. Deals done otherwise.

On one hand I'm slightly hopeful that Atletico fans aren't too happy he's leaving but on the other if Leeds fans stalked Chelsea platforms when they signed Lewis Bate they'd think they've pulled off the new Pirlo.

It is weird that some of the more technical based players in our academy who were highly rated have not managed to remain in the top tier and many have faltered to the lower levels of English football. Baker, Colkett, Bate to start off with who were integral parts of the youth team just did not cut it out at the men's level. Izzy Brown played more advanced than these players, however is another example of a more technical based player we let go who did not cut it out at top level but again was a key player for our youth teams. Baker has found his level at the Championship. Colkett and Bate both were released from their respective clubs this summer. Izzy Brown has retired after struggling with injuries but having a lot of unsuccessful loans also.
