This question had me second guessing what thread I was in across my tabbed chrome browsing - realizing the relevant question applies, and was posted in threads for KDH, Ugochukwo, Nkunku and Chukwuemeka.

No way we make a profit on nkunku. His injury shot that chance to pieces .

If We sell the others at actual losses though that is some awful negotiating by us.

Not surprised but also was kinda warming to him. Ultimately I think he’s not good enough to even be a squad player if you are looking to win the PL and CL. We need better quality off the bench.

Good deal for everyone. He signed for us, by all accounts has been a model professional, happy to get his minutes seeing a game out. He leaves having achieved two medals, both of which he has played his part. Everton will be a good move for him…question now is , have we got a player prepared to do similar. It’s an unassuming role but an important one in a squad.

Goes with my best wishes. Excellent professional and has been more important on the training ground for Maresca than on the pitch it could be argued.

Not even close to being as bad as some on here think but he isn’t going to play next season so Everton is a great move for him.

So all I want to know is, did we make a profit or loss on this guy?

We made a loss in real terms - bought for £30m, sold for £25m, potential £9m loss factoring in wages according to those bullsh*t wage websites.

In PSR fakery - bought for £30m year 1 on a 5-year contract, so book cost reduces by £6m each year and his wages are £4m/year. Book cost at end of year 1 is £24m.

We've reportedly sold him for £25m, so a small book profit of £1m - £4m wages = net £3m book loss

So, in real money terms, we made a substantial loss. But actually if you look at it from Clearlake's lens, run the numbers, dot the Is, cross the Ts, account for xG, xA, xA + npXG and factor in all that can be factored - we also made a loss.

Don't forget the add ons, if he goes and scores 60 goals in a season and wins Balon D'or then we might be able to make a slight profit!

Nothing against KDH... Nothing... glad he won silverware with us and he is a proper pro... he can and should hold his head high for his time with us. Nothing but the best for him over the rest of his career and another I will follow with interest to see how he gets on.

But the board need shooting over another transfer that's cost us more than just his fee.

We sold better players to accommodate him, and that is nearly unforgivable. The directors model isnt working, the need to buy everyone at vastly overpriced numbers is alarming.

The wages we spent last season are written off - and don't think they count towards PSR for this season. So that 3million you factored can be added back into the pot.

But then i don't really understand all this - so might be wrong!

yeah, god forbid we'd want to keep our youth products as squad members rather than an influx of below standard players for extortionate fees that we make a loss on after a single year.

I guess the concept of supporting local and having an affinity with the club and those they bring through is an alien concept to the franchise brigade.

So if we buy the boy for 30m, loan him out for 5 years, poke fun of him 5 years and end up releasing him is better than selling him for 24m + bonuses after a year.

Btw you UB conveniently leave out the possible bonuses because it might hurt your point. Which to you is everything. Being right.

That is what mostly happened to players under Roman if we made a mistake of buying the wrong player.

What has Roman Abramovich got to do with Clearlake's player trading model.

'possible' bonuses.

Is this the same as Felix's sell on fee that everyone is claiming is going to make us a fortune lmao

Trashing Roman to dick ride the new owners again, have some shame.

Preach! We turn a blind eye at the random wasteful spending we had under Roman (Im not complaining about R.A), but GOD FORBID we only make £460k profit on flipping KDH who was a fantastic steward during our transition year under Maresca.

He helped us in securing the Conference League, CL, CWC. So not a total loss
