Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2024/25

Featured Replies

Neither are rivals but this could be a game with a few being sent off. A guy I know was in the Royal Marines and played for their rugby union team. In a match against the Paras it turned into a blood bath. Two of the finest fighting units in the World.

I disagree: it's one of the spices of life (unless you have to watch Chelsea of course), exactly what is needed as an antidote to the misery we know is happening. It may even be a way to a better life for some.

Absolutely horrible news!

He only got married a few days ago, 28 years old is no age.

May God bless his family at this difficult time.

R.I.P. Diego Jota.

An absolute tragedy. I'm stunned by the news.

Condolences to his family and friends, and to Liverpool.

RIP Diogo Jota.

Just horrible how sometimes all it takes is an instant. 28 is no age at all. Everyone always assumes they'll get a long time to say goodbye when to the time comes for them or their loved ones but it doesn't always work out that way.

There needs to be a better education system for young footballers and fast cars. Seems every club at any time has a player serving a driving ban being caught speeding at speeds most normal cars couldn't even reach (and often not even on motorways). Maybe the league could implement a system of a point on your licence equals a match ban?

Thanks for lowering the tone.

Sorry - it really sucks for the young family. Devestating.

But crashes at 00:30hrs at night, that end in a blow out and fireball, rarely happen when doing 30km per hour in a kia picanto.

Sometimes, it's best to keep opinions like that in your head Jim.

Yeah I know - sorry. Limited filter.

No less true though....Fireballs don't regularly happen to little old ladies driving sensibly. An outpouring of grief and condolences for a person who very probably acted (or enabled) recklessly always sits a little awkwardly. It's not about being heartless - it's tragic whenever someone dies young — but context matters. High-speed crashes at half past midnight in a supercar aren’t freak occurrences; they’re predictable risks. We can feel sympathy without pretending there’s no responsibility in the mix.
