It is bizzare how fans think that the cause of our struggle last season is Madueke or Jackson.

Blocked the middle, have one player on Caicedo and it is very difficult for Chelsea to develop any offense. Furthermore we lost Colwil who is our best passer from cb yet many believe our build up is better 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

We need more from our wide player. Last season only Madueke could create chaos, this season hopefully estevao can do that for us but I really don't want to put too much pressure on him and play him tons of minutes. It is not good for his development if he play heavy minutes too young

Losing Colwill and Tosin means the CBs will pass to each other. Our buildup depends totally on the CCB because the RCB and LCB need to stretch the pitch

Clearly far from a great first half display but not as dreadful as has been made out. First game of the season after a short break and playing a team who normally play with energy and intensity.

Enzo and Gittens not remotely at the races and need hooked but I doubt they will this early. Enzo's inability to be in any way a threat is making it easy for Palace to smother Palmer who hasn't had a sniff.

No point talking about WCC games or the friendlies after that. Most of those games played ar 60% pace with no pressure.

Its the fact Maresca has created the exact same problems as last seasons games against them, thats the worry.

Dire first half - moving the ball sideways, backwards too much, and moving the ball too slowly - we look a step and a half off the pace. Struggled to get Palmer into the game. Gittens offered nothing. Enzo been poor. Neto his usual energy but not unlocking anything .

Still think we will win 1v0

It really got nothing to do with this. Palace and many other team did exactly this to us last season even with Colwill and Tosin.

What I'm saying is we're even more stuck when our CBs can't get the ball out quick. This is a problem on top of the nonexistant midfield

Estevao on..knowing Maresca first changes happen on 75th minute.

When we go 1 nil down.

Come on Chelsea

A poor first half, a few changes at around 60 minutes, Palace put to the sword. Nice.

Lets have 3 points. Flamboyant and expansive play can come later. 😎

Good showing from Josh. Enzo wont be surprised when he is subbed.

That half was a big advert for why Maresca was right about the defence. We have a big Colwill shaped hole at the back. Defence are disorganised, we look shaky as hell, and no one is able to link up with players ahead. Chalobah and Acheampong have tried to play out, but ended up passing it straight to Palace players.

We’re lucky we’re still in it. Would take the draw right now and go back to the drawing board.

All of this wouldn’t really matter if our wingers could actually get the ball and run at players and Enzo wasn’t stinking up the place.

I’m vocal about needing a new CB but the defence wasn’t a problem this half.

They have got Wharton and Hughes winning the midfield and yet we're insistent in trying to thread our way through. Fernandez being caught out on numerous occasions meaning they are using Eze and Sarr to have overloads on us.

Reality check that PL is much tougher than the CWC and a few friendlies.

Exactly, You need to earn the right to win. We've been bullied. Would like to see Delap and Santos on the pitch.

It's a poor game but the aim is three points and they are definitely there for the taking.

Yes, Enzo has been atrocious. Palmer who was free as a bird against leverkusen again and again barely get anything.

Honestly, either bring estevao or Santos or just play better and sharper. Nick a goal somewhere somehow and Palace will need to open up and it will be easier.

First time since Betis we haven’t scored in first 20 mins. Makes a huge difference
