This is why I still don't rate Caicedo ahead of Makelele and Kante. They were cleaner tacklers, Caicedo is always too close to the edge. He's full throttle into every tackle when he doesn't need to be. His red card today has been close to happening so many times.

It’s his first red in 130 pl games not fair to draw that conclusion based on this

Glad to see no subs. Enzo learnt his lesson hopefully.

I would like to see the same team out at half time. Next sub would be JP for Palmer. Maybe Garnacho for Stevie and Santos for Gusto.

Tbf he rarely ever gets red cards. Every defensive midfielder has a moment like this in their career especially in high stakes games like these

I would consider taking Joao Pedro off for Delap too but would prefer to wait a bit before making a 3rd change.

He’s not bringing on palmer when he have 10 men. He will bring on Santos, now it’s a case of don’t concede and get a draw or a cheeky counter attack goal we don’t need a playmaker especially one with a broken toe. The second he git that red CP would know he’s not playing today

Those are good shouts. I’d keep an eye on Cucu also and whether Hato needs to come on, which would be a big ask.

edit - Hato isn’t on the bench, my bad. Cucu needs to play smart!
