We were good but Villa weren’t at it at all. Same old story as soon as we concede the players sh*t the bed and can’t cope.

That sums it up for me. Sadly!

Oh dear! How sh*t was that second half. Badiashile gifts them possession and we can't generate a positive response. Cucurella goes off for no good reason. We lose our bite and again prove how fragile our mental strength really is. Fernández really should be stepping up for these situations but he's got less teeth than Benny Hill's bald accomplice. Falls over like him too!

3 points worse off than last season and 10 points off 3rd.

Gutted.

We're actually 6 points worse off than last season (after 18 games) ... 29 vs 35.

Our rolling 38 game points tally is also now down to 62, i.e. worse than we finished up under Pochettino (63). 18 months on and we're going backwards ....

It's okay, the outstanding fixture before we've completed a full run of games against every other side in the league is Man City away so I'm sure we'll be fine...

I didn't go today, forwarded my ticket to a friend. Didn't watch it. Listened to the first half and we sounded superb .

Went out. Got home and wasn't even surprised when I saw the result. Villa have come from behind a few times recently.

Just heard that Palmer looked furious when he can off .?? Why were we so poor in the second half after what sounded like a very dominant display against a good Villa team ??

The reality was that they were as poor in the first half as we were at Newcastle. They started with Kamara and a returning Buendia in midfield. They were very narrow and played Malen on his own up top. Yet they had no midfield presence and we kept regaining possession. However, our care of the ball was sloppy, once again. Neto, constantly waving his arms for the ball, then either just recycling or sending in hopeless crosses. Garnacho the same. Guy cannot seem to beat a man and his crossing is so suspect. Neither good enough. So the ball constantly finds its way to a crowded edge of the box where Palmer and Fernandez were continually crowded out.

Badiashile wasn't actually too bad, but he always has an error in him. So with an inconsistent Badiashile, totally ineffective Fernandez, crowded out Palmer and two pony wingers it didn't really take a lot of adjusting by Emery.

Having then done this Emery had the added bonus of having a fking moron in the other dugout (not even in the other dugout actually cos of his own petulance and crap standards). Moron Maresca takes off a hard working Cucurella and weakens us further with Willo the Wisp Gusto. Takes off the only player capable of holding the ball up, Pedro and weakens us further with the little talent, big chip Delap, who gets booked in a minute and does bugger all for the rest of the game. Takes off a frustrating Garnacho and weakens us further with a hopelessly miles off Gittens, who shouldn't even be playing in the PL.

Put that all in the pot and leave to simmer for a further 20 minutes and voila! Enzo Fking Maresca.

I listened to the first half on the radio and it sounded like we were playing Holland's total football , prime tiki taki , and a brilliant possession game, with Villa chasing shadows, all over the pitch !.

Cheap lazy commentary again. If we could actually cross properly and if we had any form of cutting edge then may be. But at no stage did I think that Martinez felt under pressure or uncomfortable

Can always rely on Chelsea to ruin Christmas. Maybe not ruin as Christmas has been decent (despite the efforts of the in-laws), but f**k me, what a downer.

Just knew when we went off at HT that it wouldn't last. That the better coach would change things and Maresca would get out-coached AGAIN, But even I didn't foresee those three subs. Who in their right f**king mind would think it a good idea to take off Cucurella and bring on Gusto, Gittens and Delap? And then take off Palmer (who admittedly wasn't at his best) but leave Neto on who had been piss poor whole game? Leave Palmer on you dimwit and let Estevao play wide right and let them try and link up.

Two mistakes by two you would predict - Badiashille and Gusto and they are both on Maresca. It's so predictable it's becoming boring.

Next time Chelsea are on I might just watch Call The Midwife with the mother-in law - it will save a lot of pain and anger.

That's the best match analysis I've ever read !!

Feckers decieved me with their gushing praise for our team!

I was saying in the first half we needed to take those chances because there was no way Villa would play that way again in the 2nd. Anybody thinking our first half was excellent and not just Villa being really sh*t is deluding themselves. The moment they woke up, we crumbled. The moment a team puts any kind of pressure on our players, we are completely overwhelmed and the players stop playing with their heads and start chasing everything and getting frustrated. No discipline, both in the positional sense and mental sense. The manager is the exactly the same.

I had strong feeling we were going to lose the game after listening Meresca's pre-match interview yesterday. Rotation rotation, rotation. This team is not capable, experinced and resiliant enough to win a competitive match. I am so fed up with this team, Maresca and the club recruitment policy. We will be very lucky to qualify for champions league. I can't see us winning the next two league games.

Apparently what cheesed Maresca off about the owners t’other day was their post match debrief with Bullyband Egbhali , Maresca and the SDs where a stewards inquiry is held if like today and many days the result stinks the gaff out

I wonder how today’s went. And yes I do think the owners and SDs get an indirect say on player selections. TT bailed as soon as he sniffed that 🐮 💩 no top manager would stand for it. But we are Chelsea so always some manager inexperienced or not willing to take the hot seat.

one win in 6 league games - no progress from last season.

I wont be surprised if lose or draw our next game against Bournemouth. As against Man City is definitely a defeat. Anyone who has set high expectation for this team they better come to reality.

I think we’re actually in a lot of trouble. We have a first eleven who can’t play together for more than one half once a week. Otherwise half of them might get a recurring injury. Or are too knackered because they’re being overplayed. And a second eleven who will struggle against lower league sides. And a manager who can’t manage his way out of a paper bag. And who just makes things worse more often than not.

Personally I don’t care about this season anymore. We’ll be lucky to get into the Europa League. But am worried about the damage being done to the club because once you fall into a spiral it’s very hard to turn things around without a proper overhaul of players and staff and who is going to overhaul this lot?
