Or maybe cause ultimately all that matters are results and he is delivering?

So did Maresca, top 4, Conference League and CWC. That didn’t change my mind that he was not that good. The same goes with LR.

Picked a strong team to get a lead and secure the win, and then rested some key men by bringing on the second string.

Can't really complain about too much today ...

Thought Joao Pedro was excellent again. Trev and Wes decent at the back too ...

I feel sorry for Joao Pedro at times. I see him trying to play with intensity, but the rest of his teammates don't seem to match it. I saw him pick up the ball in our own half then drive forward, but nobody was busting a gut to support him. I think our football would be a lot more tolerable if there was a bit more intensity to it. But we've been saying this for years now and there is no sign of it changing.

I don't just watch football for the results, if that was the case, I may as well do something else and check the scores at full time. I want to enjoy the journey, not sit in boredom for 90 minutes.

Game won in the 1st half thankfully.

Not a great 2nd half but a welcome 3 points.

Palmer and Estevao will be fresh for Tuesday so that’s a positive as well.

Squad players are a real worry though, needs some good trading in the summer lol.

Onto the next one, I’m happy with Chelsea winning.

If he delivered consistently over the season I wouldn't have minded even if I hated his football. So far so good for LR so there's no reason for me to be upset.

Ifs and buts, moot point to say that Maresca wouldn’t win this game. But, if this sh*t game was served by him, we’d be all over him. I don’t know why LR gets so much of a pass, maybe because he’s English?

This sh*t performance was served up by him. Week after week after week. This bloke is starting down the same road as many people said he would. The only saving grace so far is that he isn't playing Sanchez in the pivot (yet) and killing the remainder of the season.

If Liverpool and city draw tomorrow we are 3 clear of Liverpool, Villa dropped points today we are only 5pts of 2nd and 4pts off 3rd it’s not really a fight for 4th anymore it’s far more open.

Was hoping spuds could at least hold Utd to a draw today UTD have easy fixtures coming up.

Arsenal and City are nailed on, United only have PL games so I would say they will get top 4, Villa, Liverpool and us are playing for 2 places, Newcastle are surely too far behind

Was it the rain that dampened the second half? lol

As soon as Garnacho came on you knew the rest of the game was going to be super dull. One trick pony - or rather a one trick donkey. Still 3 useful points. Some goal difference. A win is a win.

Can you tell me what the trick is please?

Haven’t you seen us in the first half playing out from the back with Sanchez outside the box? It’s happened at least once that I remember, but it looked like it was intentional and not out of the blue. We’ll see.

Spot on Scott.

I only saw the last 15 mins, couldn't draw many conclusions from what I saw, but I am recovering from major brain surgery... I think it's fair to say Cole Palmer was the main man on an underwhelming day?

@bluedave Wait, what? What's going on with you shok

Arsenal 1st.

United 2nd.

City 3rd.

Liverpool 4th.

Rest of us battle for 5th I Reckon.

Gifted us two penalties which settled the match in the first half. Think we were surprised they didn’t just roll over in the second half. Don’t think we managed another effort on goal till the last five minutes. We kept them at bay in tricky conditions but I expected us to show more and keep a clean sheet.

Still, take the points and move on. It’s all about hanging on to our top five spot at the moment.

LR is getting results, he was never going to change the style enough in his short time in charge. We can look to be more critical when he's had a fair crack with the team.

There is no reason for people to be sharpening the knives at this stage. We have more than enough to finish in the top 4.

I had a random epileptic seizure in the supermarket last week and an ambulance crew took me to hospital. The hospital was very thorough (apparently it's very unusual for a 40-something to spontaneously develop epilepsy) and I got sent for EEG and MRI scans and they found a big tumor behind my right eye that was the root cause of the seizure. I had been feeling like there was something slowly going "wrong" inside my brain for well over a year, so it was kind of a relief to get an explanation, although I'd have preferred something less drastic. I doubt I'd have even gotten the scans/diagnosis if this had happened in the UK.

They removed most of the tumour surgically on Thursday morning and I've spent most of the time since then in a kind of post-anesthetic funk. Thankfully, I seem to live in a center of excellence for this kind of delicate/advanced neurosurgery here in Germany. There will most likely be ongoing radio/other targeted therapy for months, but I feel like I'm in expert hands.

The doctors warned me there was a real risk of paralysis and speech impairment as a result of the surgery, but so far I seem to have avoided anything like that. I have a big hole in the side off my head, but other than that I'm doing surprisingly well!

My best wishes for your ongoing treatment. Hoping for many more Chelsea wins to speed you on the way to a full recovery !
