My Juve supporting mate reckons De ligt is better than any of our current CBs. Don't know if I necessarily agree but he's got a ton of potential to be the best. I think your mate is semi-correct. Silva is better but de Ligt is better than the rest. Not sure how much that is saying though. It’s only Chalobah, Azpilicueta, Sarr otherwise.
June 18, 20224 yr Some transfer gossip not involving Lukaku! Lazio having enquired about both RLC and Emerson! ....on loan for the season....
June 18, 20224 yr Chelsea are currently focused on ‘internal’ issues before we focus on signings according to Fabrizio Romano, including… ✍️ • Lukaku to Inter • Alonso and Azpilicueta potential departures • Kanté and Jorginho’s contract situation • Gallagher and Broja’s futures

Lukaku - accept their loan offer. He doesn't want to be here and TT doesn't want him. Alonso and Azpi - Accept any offer, their races are probably run now. Kante and Jorginho are both overpaid for the TB model, but they are under contract and nobody will want them at the price we want to sell at. Result - suck it up for another year Gallagher and Broja may as well be added to the squad. Its competing with Pulisic and Werner, not a particularly high bar. Right that is that sorted, can we now get on and buy someone decent so I don't have to watch the tw@t Redknapp telling everyone how fking spurs are good for 3rd next season.
June 18, 20224 yr Seeing the main topics for discussion in this section is an indication of how underwhelming this window already issue. Dembele - made of glass, now wants to stay at the club that wanted his wages off the books. Kounde - this story line has been running longer than a Corrie script. Oh and after all this time he now wants Barca as well. Using an Americanism our new owners should be familiar with, sh*t or get off the pot. Jesus - been using Chelsea as bait to ensure he gets his Arsenal move to reunite with his old coach. Sterling - hates us because we're all racist thugs, apparently. Yeah okay, but you get the point. Declan Rice - Blah blah blah. Another soap opera probably destined to go nowhere. £150m Moyes has been quoting, give it over. Could have bought nearly 5 Bissoumas for that. Did we even ask?

Problem is of we let Inter make mugs of us everyone else will see the new owners as soft touched as well. There is no point on buying for the sake of buying. We should only spend on quality not more Bakas and Batmans to shows we have cash. Quality has gone already. Nunez, Haaland, Bissouma, Coutinho, Kamara or staying where they are ala Dembele, Mbappe, Rice etc. Sounds like De Jong soon as well is off to United.. Not point in buying the scraps left unless there is a real hidden gem otherwise we will just just seen as the side the buys alsorans and no top players want to join anymore.
June 19, 20224 yr Some of our good players have cone at the end of transfer windows, Mata, Alonso for instance and equally unsuccessful one early on. Ziyech was bought before the window opened etc. Boehly may take a season to work it out. Probably not but it’s hard to do brilliantly in season 1. Even Klopp found it hard at the start.
June 20, 20224 yr We are being linked with Richardlison, honestly if there is any truth to that then I just give up totally on the new ownership.

June 20, 20224 yr Richarlison coming to Chelsea would top Drinkwater, Morata and any name you want to put out there for me and Everton have already rejected £50m from Spurs apparently, so this would actually be a ‘marque’ signing 😅🤦♂️. Who the f**k is orchestrating talent identification internationally?, when Frank Arneson left we’ve streamlined & trimmed the scouting network considerably and it shows, absolute amateur stuff. Everton is his level, it’s where he belongs.

The number 9 of Brazil has long been a waste land since the golden years, and is hardly contested now, with the City sub Jesus & Liverpool sub Firmino, managers have their preference.. Southgate preferred Trippier over James in the Euro’s, it happens. International football for you. Richarlison netted 10 goals last season and he spent most of the time flinging himself in the air and on the deck or arguing with other players. He has zero football i.q, and by zero I mean ZERO, can’t pass, he’s versatile as in he can play on the wing but can’t cross, born offside, always loses possession, like seriously. This guys doesn’t pass the eye test nor the stats test. This would be a bigger disaster than Lukaku, oh and did I mention Everton actually want £75m due to Watford taking a cut.
June 20, 20224 yr I can't believe how much we are talking about attackers when we simply have to get some defenders.
June 21, 20224 yr Our reported targets (if true) are underwhelming to say the least. If our 'major summer signing' (according to BBC Sport) is Raheem Sterling, then it shows a total lack of ambition as far as I'm concerned. And Richarlison? I despair. No wonder we can't attract any top names any more. After all that was reported when the new owners took over, it's all turned a bit meh. After all the excitement and anticipation, I am not looking forward to this coming season whatsoever at the moment. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Tottenham take our place as London's top team. (I was nearly sick typing that!) Sorry for all the negativity, and I know plenty on here will be saying, "the window's open 'till 1st September!", but we need players in for pre-season, not almost a month after the opening game. And most importantly, we need good players that fit in with our style of play, not most of the dross we've been linked with. We've had enough of them to last a lifetime. Stats wise he’s towards the top of our lists of G/A each season in a what’s been a god awful Everton team. It was 10G/5A just in the league last season in that team that barely created a chance. That’s directly involved in over 30% of all their goals and would have only been 1 behind Mount for top scorer here. I’ll expand to what I said on the Sterling thread. It surprises me so many are against us signing proven premier league players in their mid twenties that are standouts in other teams. How many of the attackers we’ve signed from abroad the past 5 seasons have worked out? if sterling was at Valencia and richarlison was at Porto we’d all be super excited about these rumours

June 21, 20224 yr Right, now for something controversial. I’m going to mention a name that I think should be part of our squad for this coming season (especially now there will be 5 subs) and will cost us nothing. Michy Batshuayi. Now, before you all roll around the floor in hysterics, please take a look at his stats. According to Transfermarkt, he has only played 2,428 minutes for us, which is the equivalent of 27 games playing the full 90 minutes. In those 2,428 minutes, he has scored 25 goals and has made 6 assists. That is a goal every 97 minutes and a goal or assist every 78 minutes. Impressive figures in anyone's book. He has also scored some very important goals for us and I think he was discarded too easily. His stats playing for Belgium are pretty impressive as well. I realise that apart from his goal-scoring feats, the rest of his game is not the best, but isn’t that what we need? A goalscorer? A finisher? Someone who knows where the onion bag is and doesn’t turn into Jonny Wilkinson when attempting a shot on goal? A top footballer he may not be, but my God, can he finish? There, I’ve said it.
