My random thought, player like Sissko wouldn't be that bad for us at all. Seasoned international and proven EPL player, probably will come at a decent price from the relegated barcode.

Geordies seem to hate him, nothing worse than a very talented player with a terrible attitude.

    He did have a great game although I think he was responsible for allowing Eder to get the shot in that led to the game winner. He has been one of the better players for Newcastle in the last few years but their fans have frequently questioned his attitude.

    In my opinion we're going to remain quiet for the rest of this window. Apparently Conte is happy with Matic, so I'm going to cross Kante off the list. The only other players we're linked to are CBs and strikers, which means they will be replacements for guys like Remy, Pato, Falcao and Miazga. It will be a one in, one out kind of thing. We might also be pushing hard for a decent CB while Zouma is recovering. However, I genuinely think our squad is almost set for next season, with the exception of a some fine tuning here and there. Anyone that has expectations of us signing five or six new starting XI players should probably be a little bit more realistic.

    Conte will have a free shot at it this season, so he might want a year to work with the players that he already has available before coming in and selling them all/spending 250m on new ones. It's not necessarily a bad thing (unless you're religiously refreshing this page hoping for new signings). Maybe the board has told him they want us to develop our own players and give youth a chance this season. We seem to be the only club that wants to comply with FFP, so I can't see why that trend would all of a sudden stop now. I think we will land one CB (not Koulibaly as we've been priced out like we were with Nainggolan and Morata) and a backup striker. I thought our midfield needed a complete overhaul but I'm starting to think Conte's system will paper over the cracks for one season before he works out who needs to go and who needs to stay.

    With regards to Kante i found it interesting that Pepe whispered something into his ear when he was on his way up to collect his medal after the gave. And with the reports of Real Madrid going in for him it would certainly not surprise me if we miss out on another target.

    Personally i think we do need to jig the team, a quick, good Centre half, Newcastles Sissokho, because if Utd do get Pogba, we need someone dominant in midfield, Yaya like, and maybe someone to compliment Hazard, Willian needs to up his Goalscoring this season as well, (Not Freekicks)..

    According to Di Marzio Napoli are meeting with Everton with regards to Koulibaly. Now that would be laughable if they of all clubs pips us to him. They have the money now and probably realize you can't be stingy in todays market so wouldn't even be surprised if they got him.

    Not too sure about joao mario. We seem to have an abundance of attacking midfielders, and some really promising young players as well. I think we need some more bite and energy in centre midfield, rather than more creativity.

    It would be an exciting signing though, he is a good player.

    Maybe ruben neves would be a better target.

    Looks like we've missed out on Stones, Bonucci and Kalouably. Maybe we'll end up with Papy Dilajibii at the back.

    I'm prepared to be shot down and know i'm in the minority but I really think we should get in for Benteke.

     

    I think he'd be a reverse Torres, he is vastly under-appreciated at Liverpool because he doesn't suit the playing style of their current manager which is fine but more importanly he didn't even fit the style of the manager that was in position when they bought him.

     

    I believe Liverpool slightly overpaid for him at the time but due to the market inflation, he now imo represents good value if they are as reported looking to recoup the same fee.

     

    The guy is 25, PL proven and had a very impressive record (1 in 2) at a consistently terrible Villa and even has a 1 in 3 record at Liverpool.

     

    I think he is bordering on a no-brainer deal at £30m when you consider the likes of Morata or Lukaku are touted at double that.

     

    Look at this video, pretend you can't see the name, shirts or don't know the club he is currently employed at. All you know is this footage is of a PL striker that's 25 and you can grab him today for £30m. Good deal right?
