Muppet? Seriously pipe down ffs!

If you'd really like me to give you list of the things he did well then I will. I think it's obvious you are not going to agree so what's the point?

i think we made an agreement on the announcements that we would treat our fellow shed-enders with a bit more respect. if you disagree with someone its fair enough but calling someone a 'muppet' for having a differing opinion is a bit weak as is telling someone to 'pipe down' .. this is a forum

Yeah and David Walliams swum the channel. Perhaps we should pay £50 million for him as well. Couldn't be worse than Torres.

No do it you tit. Take your "I play up front" knowledge and list the things Torres did of value through the centre. Give us the benefit of your Sunday League Div 6 wisdom.. List the times he had the centre-halves in trouble. The chances on goal. The times he worked the goal-keeper.

List them muppet.

Stop getting all red faced and angry and I'll tell you if your that desperate to hear.

My sunday league division 6 knowledge tells me that torres was winning flick ons and bringing our creative players into play, It also tells me that he was a big part of the reason they kept giving the ball away and couldn't start moves. I'd also say he created a our second goal with a good pass into ramires who finsihed brilliantly. He didn't have many chances but there were a couple of times and one time in particular I remember where he was waiting at the back post for a tap in but hazard chose to shoot instead and blazed it over.

Now breathe and calm down.......

I don't really think 2 would be needed. One yes, but with Ba and the returning Lukaku that should be enough.

I've read and heard via fairly reliable newspaper/radio sources that Lukaku will be loaned out again next season

Oh, yes. Winning flick ons, (Drogba did that every game you know, proper centre-forward, and didn't get a round of applause for it). Excellent. And those flicks-ons were the reason Tottenham lost possession? How does that work? And Hazard didn't pass to him? Naughty Hazard. Wonder why he didn't pass to our no: 9 a man who hasn't scored in the EPL for six months. But hang on? Does Hazard not passing to him equal Nando doing good? Is that your conclusion?

Torres was sh*t through the middle and as usual often wasn't there. But you wouldn't notice that would you.

who the f**k is the person making these decisions?! emenalo? gourlay?

Yes drogba did that every game and got praised for it because it was one of his best attributes being big and strong in the air so your wrong there.

And on the point about hazard not crossing for torres yes it does mean torres did good because he was in a goal scoring position proving your point that he never got in a goal scoring position all game invalid. What would you like torres to do in that situation? Go and rugby tackle hazard?

And no torres wasn't "sh*t" through the middle tonight. He did good things tonight through the middle and out wide. Wasn't an amazing performance by any means but he contributed to a lively team performance.

Anyway I'm off to bed. Leave your witty response which will probably consist of the words tit and muppet and I'll reply in the morning.

it is fairly evident our creators have completely lost faith with torres.

you can say people shouldve passed to torres here and there, but far outweighing that number is the amount of times he HAS been passed the ball and then either: gets caught in 3 minds, takes too long on the ball, loses possession by dribbling into a crowd of players or by falling over due to weakness and lack of balance, OR (and most common of all imo) isnt in the correct position to receive the pass to begin with—this is what gets me most, because when people launch pinpoint balls into the near post he never makes takes gamble, when launching a counter he makes the wrong runs, when space opens up he is 2 steps too slow to realise. these are the most basic things a striker should be doing, but because people see him chasing shadows (which they confuse for hard work and good pressing) or controlling a football (yes, it is that low of a standard) they think he's doing a job and has put in a shift.

he's a complete pretender and i mean that in the most literal sense—the first thing he did tonight was get beaten to a header and then proceed to feign injury to make himself look like something unfair had happened, all the while our team won the ball back and attacked the spurs defence whilst he sat on his ass, hiding as usual

a good first half shift ... faded badly second half and should have been sub'd for Ba ... blindingly obvious for all to see except our idiot Manager.

However, zero penetration in the 6 yard box where it matters ...

It's amazing how those that have made their decision that Torres is crap before the game starts have all come on here ranting and raving!

Yet those that watch the game and then make a decision think that he was ok until he tired at which point fatty should have taken him off.

Torres had an average game last night guys and girls, no more no less.

good first half, totally ran out of enery in the second. he was knackered by the 60th minute and though I do think he's finished as a top player given the amount of games he's played I don't have a problem with him looking exhausted.

I do have a problem with him not being subbed off though. but that isn't his fault...

If i was Ba i'd ask for a transfer in the summer. Same as Studge. Sitting on the bench each week watching Torres not score must be so painful.

I cant see Torres leaving now. He has been in all the adverts for out new kits and adverts for samsung. He will be here next season for sure imo.

He's getting a good wage and (supposedly) contending for trophies at Chelsea.

Not sure who would be interested in Ba that he would want to move to. I'm hoping Jose will be back next season and if we sign a new "big name" forward I just don't see Jose picking Torres ahead of the new signing and Ba....

Ba is exactly the kind of striker Jose likes, however that said, I think after next season we would be looking to move Ba on so that Lukaku can be fully utilised in the squad.

Ba has 7 more starts than torres when they have both been available so how you can claim ba has been sitting on the bench each week I don't know

Sorry but any one that thinks that was a performance worthy of any striker, has never played game at all.

He was terrible.Stunk up the shop. Caused all the break down of our play, causing wave after wave of spuds counter, didnt gamble, not once, actually did not bust a gut once to get on the end of things.

I'd love to rewatch the game with some of you again ill point out what an average striker should be doing and what torres doesnt do, and watch any other team, they Will have strikers giving everything to get on the end of a chance. holding the ball up when needed and bringing teams in to play and making defenders work with thier movement. Torres consistently does none of this

I don't want to turn this into a torres v ba because I do believe ba is the better striker at the minute but ba only has 2 prem goals since january. And considering he has had more starts that isn't exactly fantastic is it.

Edited by Bluehatter

he hasnt scored in the last 17 league games and i honestly think there were people saying he was decent in every game during that period. the period thats still going, mind you

we have a striker who cant score to save his life but hes apparently 'decent'. how do you describe strikers like lukaku then? unplayable?

He was f**king terrible last night.

Can't hold the ball up, keeps falling over every time an opposition player goes near him. Absolute shocker. The only good thing was his pass to Ramires when we scored our second goal. Just utter trite otherwise.

Let's not forget Ba scored two crackers against the best two teams in the country in the FA Cup, whereas Torres only scores against teams from weak European leagues.

Sticking to the Prem, how many starts do they both have since Ba arrived?

I'd also be interested in minutes in the Prem since Ba arrived, since it seems Ba gets subbed far more than Torres.

9-7 to ba in starts. He was injured for a period in february otherwise he would probably have more. Not sure on minutes I'd imagine torres might just sneak it.

Please tell me that's a joke? When was his last goal in the Prem, what date? How many minutes has he played since?

I'd like to know because, the same as you, I'm baffled as to how people can say he's decent.

A striker that never, ever looks like scoring? Decent?

Is this the longest current draught of any striker in the league, in terms of minutes?

When I say the league, I mean the whole league, including the Conference.

I bet you it is.

17 league games ago was 2012. We're in the middle of May.

If he's decent, as some of you say, here's my question ..

Why doesn't he just bang in a goal .. ?
