Has to be Mata for me. Breathtakingly poor how the rest of the team seem to think the way to break down a stubborn and well organised defence is to simply keep running straight at them and hope they politely step out of the way and wave you through.

Mata was different class when he came on. Truly a world class player. But as he's not an option, Azpilicueta was pretty good all game and showed that he can be effective going forward which he hasn't really shown before.

Mata, & Azpi, Cahill & Hazard tried hard.

Torres 0/10, I didn't think I would see him play worse than he did vs Foolham away last season, but he really was no threat at all.

Azpilicueta for me, thought he got up and down well and put some decent balls in, fitted in well, Mata class as usual but not on the field long enough to take away a solid performance from young Ceasar for me.

sturridge imo. Our most dangerous player through the match from the three positions he played. Cesar and mata were good also

Mostly bad performances, but some did atleast okay. Azpilicueta was the best defender, Hazard tried his best and Mata had a very good game. My vote goes to Mikel though. He was great, despite having liabilities behind him when we had to defend.

Cesar was decent both going forward and defending.

Sturridge looked lively and made some great runs.

Mata showed yet again just how clueless we are without him.

Mata was a world above everyone else apart from maybe Azpi and at certain points Hazard. Completely changed the game.

My vote goes to Cech for that try at the end of the game.

Mata was absolute class when he came on, and Sturridge showed that we can get plenty of chances if we play with a proper CF, but I went with Bertrand, because he worked hard all night and was very present

Cesar I though was our best player tonight - gave Hazard the cross for our goal too.

Mata was clearly a revelation when he came on, but I will go with Cesar since he hardly put a foot wrong all day, and gave us some great play on the right. Its too bad nobody was connecting with the crosses he put in.

On another note, Hazard was quite good all game but was lost at sea out there with almost no help for 90 minutes. Before we made changes I was feeling sorry for him, but after that he drifted in importance.

As for blame, there was plenty to go around. Torres, Bertie, Luiz, Romeu, and even Danny for his frustrating flourish at the end.

Cesar, what a solid signing for a decent price. Don't get many of those at CFC. Needs to stay in the team from here on in.

Mata changed the game when him and Oscar came on, but I have to give it to Cesar, as he provided some good natural width and also put in some decent crosses.

I also think he deserves a run in the team, as he looks more like a natural right back, compared to Ivan.
