One of the few players who gave it his all until the end tonight! Massive props. By far one of my favourites, alongside the likes of Terry/Lampard/Cole.

 

Absolutely. Always a telling sign of a player's character when they keep trying their heart out with a totally lost situation a few minutes from time. That sort of character will help in every situation, from winning, to fighting to the end. Those kind of people can pull an almost lost situation into a winning one.

This team would win the treble, easily.

Same. Hazard has had his moments this season but Azpilicueta has been our most consistent performer, he always plays well.

Wasn't there a "Where's Dave" thread? Talk about a player taking his chance when presented.

Ah well i voted for Hazard player of the season.

Really should be pointed out how well he has done and how (relatively) cheaply we got him for.

 

Goes to show if you do your research, give someone the time to flourish you can still get bargains in the football transfer business. So Jose, you need to go find a few more gems like this one for us please, and hopefully unearth some of the gems we already have. Whether Lukaku, Kalas, Courtios, MVG, Baker etc turn out to be true gold or fools gold, I hope we can pick them out and they can do as well as "Dave" has done for us :)

Goalkeepers are a different beast. Cortouis is a top 10 priced goal keeper.

 

Defenders are just underrated enough to be cheap. The romance of strikers makes them overpriced

What a player! Even at 3-1 down he was still playing full of heart and energy. Already one of if not the best full back in the world. My player of the year by a distance!

I wish he'd get the chance to start for his country at the WC but it's doubtful - do Spain ever pick on form? Remember Mata was only making the bench despite being in the top 3 players in the best, most hardest, league in the world for two years back to back.

Shame, you can't say Xavi or Iniesta would warrant their places but they'll start (and yes I know they don't play in the same position as Azpi, just showing how it works) Just hope the manager has some integrity.

I believe Dave has played left back for Spain on a couple of occasions. He is a better defender than Jordi Alba. Have voted for him as Player of the Year.

His main competition will be Juanfran, I believe he can also play both right back and left back like Dave as well.

Would be difficult for me to stomach that without moving him to CB. Ivanovic is just a beast. He would be starting RB or CB in most top teams.
